9
00:02:07,200 --> 00:02:11,039
in for the northfield job the northfield

10
00:02:09,439 --> 00:02:12,639
job

11
00:02:11,038 --> 00:02:14,958
i didn't know about until i got this

12
00:02:12,639 --> 00:02:14,958
paper

13
00:02:15,840 --> 00:02:20,000
but they let a man be honest not if the

14
00:02:18,080 --> 00:02:21,360
man is jesse james thanks for the

15
00:02:20,000 --> 00:02:24,000
warning steve

16
00:02:21,360 --> 00:02:26,319
i'll be on my way i'm riding with you

17
00:02:24,000 --> 00:02:27,680
now don't be a fool kid maybe i'd better

18
00:02:26,318 --> 00:02:30,318
tell you jesse

19
00:02:27,680 --> 00:02:33,599
the bandit they killed at northfield was

20
00:02:30,318 --> 00:02:37,079
was right there your dad

21
00:02:33,598 --> 00:02:37,079
poor old fred

22
00:02:37,280 --> 00:02:40,000
guess you and i'll have to make a new

23
00:02:38,560 --> 00:02:41,680
start together steve

24
00:02:40,000 --> 00:02:43,680
where we had it does it make any

25
00:02:41,680 --> 00:02:47,000
difference no

26
00:02:43,680 --> 00:02:47,000
let's go

27
00:02:49,500 --> 00:03:26,079
[Music]

28
00:03:24,479 --> 00:03:27,359
we've got to keep moving the law has a

29
00:03:26,080 --> 00:03:30,400
long reach

30
00:03:27,360 --> 00:03:30,400
where do you reckon we are

31
00:03:30,959 --> 00:03:35,120
peaceful valley tennessee should be

32
00:03:32,560 --> 00:03:36,799
somewhere over that range of hills

33
00:03:35,120 --> 00:03:39,280
and we'll stop the next farmhouse and

34
00:03:36,799 --> 00:03:41,519
find out where we are

35
00:03:39,280 --> 00:03:45,039
don't forget your new name

36
00:03:41,519 --> 00:03:47,280
you're steve long right you're mr jc

37
00:03:45,039 --> 00:03:51,079

38
00:03:47,280 --> 00:03:51,080

42
00:04:12,799 --> 00:04:16,000

43
00:04:14,318 --> 00:04:18,719
get some information about the roads to

44
00:04:16,000 --> 00:04:20,160
the south my dad can help you water your

45
00:04:18,720 --> 00:04:22,000
horses around the side of the house and

46
00:04:20,160 --> 00:04:24,430

51
00:04:35,040 --> 00:04:38,560
to water the horses and come on in and

52
00:04:36,240 --> 00:04:38,560
talk to

53
00:04:40,839 --> 00:04:53,789

get up but

64
00:05:29,839 --> 00:05:33,758
some of those black-hearted raiders were

65
00:05:31,519 --> 00:05:36,000
here don't go into that now dad mr

66
00:05:33,759 --> 00:05:38,160
howard wants to know about the roads

67
00:05:36,000 --> 00:05:41,038
guess where do you want to get to howard

68
00:05:38,160 --> 00:05:42,800
well i don't know exactly mr bolton

69
00:05:41,038 --> 00:05:44,399
steve and i aim to buy a farm somewhere

70
00:05:42,800 --> 00:05:46,400
to the south of here further you get

71
00:05:44,399 --> 00:05:49,139
from this section the better you'll be

72
00:05:46,399 --> 00:05:52,478
but the best way is to go right

careful man there's a sharpshooter in

79
00:06:19,439 --> 00:06:21,839
there

80
00:06:22,470 --> 00:06:29,120

you're hurt

83
00:06:38,319 --> 00:06:46,399
not bad

[Music]

87

it's too late to catch him steve

88
00:07:07,598 --> 00:07:10,000
you better go in the house and take care

89
00:07:08,959 --> 00:07:11,758
of that arm

90
00:07:10,000 --> 00:07:13,519
i'll go with him no you'd better come

91
00:07:11,759 --> 00:07:15,199
with me to see if we can identify any of

92
00:07:13,519 --> 00:07:17,038
the men that have been shot

93
00:07:15,199 --> 00:07:18,160
also i'd like to catch that blaze face

94
00:07:17,038 --> 00:07:19,918
horse

95
00:07:18,160 --> 00:07:21,759
he may be useful

96
00:07:19,918 --> 00:07:23,198
my son you'll be as good as new in a

97
00:07:21,759 --> 00:07:24,960
couple of days

98
00:07:23,199 --> 00:07:27,598
daddy the dead men were all strangers to

99
00:07:24,959 --> 00:07:29,198
me well that bears out my idea

100
00:07:27,598 --> 00:07:31,680
those raiders don't belong around these

101
00:07:29,199 --> 00:07:34,240
parts and likely enough it was jesse

102
00:07:31,680 --> 00:07:36,959
james in his game that ain't possible

103
00:07:34,240 --> 00:07:38,960
how do you know that steve well i i i

104
00:07:36,959 --> 00:07:40,879
don't know of course

105
00:07:38,959 --> 00:07:43,198
it's just my opinion

106
00:07:40,879 --> 00:07:46,560
he does know miss bolton

107
00:07:43,199 --> 00:07:48,080
because i happen to be jesse james

108
00:07:46,560 --> 00:07:50,079
or not steve

109
00:07:48,079 --> 00:07:52,318
the only law he ever broke was helping

110
00:07:50,079 --> 00:07:53,680
me get out of missouri but as steve said

111
00:07:52,319 --> 00:07:55,280
i haven't done all the things that i'm

112
00:07:53,680 --> 00:07:56,478
blamed for

113
00:07:55,279 --> 00:07:58,478
we shouldn't have stopped here with all

114
00:07:56,478 --> 00:08:00,560
this notarized stuff

115
00:07:58,478 --> 00:08:02,240
why aren't i be dead pigeons right now

116
00:08:00,560 --> 00:08:03,598
with the roof burning over our heads if

117
00:08:02,240 --> 00:08:05,519
you hadn't

118
00:08:03,598 --> 00:08:07,279
well then i'm glad we did and what's

119
00:08:05,519 --> 00:08:10,399
more you're welcome to stay here as long

120
00:08:07,279 --> 00:08:12,878
as you like thanks mr bolton good that's

121
00:08:10,399 --> 00:08:14,318
settled now we'll eat and then i'm going

122
00:08:12,879 --> 00:08:15,759
to go into town and see if that new

123
00:08:14,319 --> 00:08:18,000
mowing machine we ordered came in on the

124
00:08:15,759 --> 00:08:19,598
boat this morning that's a good idea

125
00:08:18,000 --> 00:08:21,279
i'll ride in with you you'd better stay

126
00:08:19,598 --> 00:08:22,719
here steve

127
00:08:21,279 --> 00:08:24,959
i'd like to go along to see if we can

128
00:08:22,720 --> 00:08:26,560
find out who owns that raiders horse

129
00:08:24,959 --> 00:08:29,198
it may give us a clue to the meaning of

130
00:08:26,560 --> 00:08:29,199
these attacks

131
00:08:30,529 --> 00:08:33,699
[Music]

132
00:08:36,399 --> 00:08:40,958
hear anything blocking

133
00:08:38,000 --> 00:08:43,120
no not a word should have got back by

134
00:08:40,958 --> 00:08:43,119
now

135
00:08:46,879 --> 00:08:50,958
listen to this

136
00:08:49,039 --> 00:08:52,879
our geologist says a recheck of the

137
00:08:50,958 --> 00:08:54,639
peaceful valley survey

138
00:08:52,879 --> 00:08:55,919
verifies our first findings in every

139
00:08:54,639 --> 00:08:58,240
respect

140
00:08:55,919 --> 00:09:00,719
there is no doubt that an extensive pool

141
00:08:58,240 --> 00:09:02,000
of oil lies under the whole region

142
00:09:00,720 --> 00:09:04,560
are you sure that none of those farmers

143
00:09:02,000 --> 00:09:06,159
know anything about this absolutely very

144
00:09:04,559 --> 00:09:07,278
few people realize the potential value

145
00:09:06,159 --> 00:09:08,639
of oil

146
00:09:07,278 --> 00:09:10,720
that's why we've got to get possession

147
00:09:08,639 --> 00:09:15,039
of those farms before they learn and

148
00:09:10,720 --> 00:09:15,040
we've only got to reach out our hands

149
00:09:18,000 --> 00:09:23,120
well laughton is the bolton job done

150
00:09:20,399 --> 00:09:25,440
yeah we were driven off

151
00:09:23,120 --> 00:09:27,120
by a [ __ ] and a girl oh wait a minute

152
00:09:25,440 --> 00:09:29,839
there were others there and some dead

153
00:09:27,120 --> 00:09:32,240
shots too i only lost three men in my

154
00:09:29,839 --> 00:09:34,320
horse i'm not interested in lost men and

155
00:09:32,240 --> 00:09:35,919
horses the bolton place is in the heart

156
00:09:34,320 --> 00:09:36,879
of the oil lands and we've got to have

157
00:09:35,919 --> 00:09:39,039
it

158
00:09:36,879 --> 00:09:41,439
all right i'll just have to raid it with

159
00:09:39,039 --> 00:09:44,000
more men now wait a minute

160
00:09:41,440 --> 00:09:45,519
i've got a better plan than that

161
00:09:44,000 --> 00:09:47,919
captain flynn is going to dock his boat

162
00:09:45,519 --> 00:09:49,919
to dixie bell sometime today

163
00:09:47,919 --> 00:09:52,319
and take on a load of explosives

164
00:09:49,919 --> 00:09:54,000
explosives what for

165
00:09:52,320 --> 00:09:55,920
flint's gonna run his steamboat head on

166
00:09:54,000 --> 00:09:58,720
into the levee and flood every farm in

167
00:09:55,919 --> 00:09:58,719
beautiful valley

168
00:09:59,200 --> 00:10:02,800
your lab was drowned some folks ain't

169
00:10:00,799 --> 00:10:04,639
your chief i can't be worrying about

170
00:10:02,799 --> 00:10:05,838
that

171
00:10:04,639 --> 00:10:10,759
get down to the boat landing and give

172
00:10:05,839 --> 00:10:10,760
flynn a hand with those explosives okay

173
00:10:21,970 --> 00:10:25,129
[Music]

174
00:10:25,759 --> 00:10:28,000
oh

175
00:10:29,360 --> 00:10:33,680
hello clam

176
00:10:30,879 --> 00:10:35,679
honey honeymoon clan this is mr howard

177
00:10:33,679 --> 00:10:37,439
how are you

178
00:10:35,679 --> 00:10:39,679
sure glad to know you

179
00:10:37,440 --> 00:10:41,400
you know most of the horses around here

180
00:10:39,679 --> 00:10:45,609
who owns that one

yep

183
00:10:50,240 --> 00:10:54,560
he belongs to a fellow named lawton

184
00:10:52,639 --> 00:10:57,120
that's right clem

185
00:10:54,559 --> 00:10:58,719
that horse is stolen from me last night

186
00:10:57,120 --> 00:11:00,799
you wouldn't happen to be a horse thief

187
00:10:58,720 --> 00:11:02,399
would you stranger the last fella that

188
00:11:00,799 --> 00:11:04,000
rode this horse had his face hidden in

189
00:11:02,399 --> 00:11:06,240
the hood

190
00:11:04,000 --> 00:11:09,200
now you wouldn't be that fella would you

191
00:11:06,240 --> 00:11:09,200
don't go for that gun

192
00:11:10,240 --> 00:11:14,159
okay

193
00:11:11,919 --> 00:11:16,719
the next time you cross my path look out

194
00:11:14,159 --> 00:11:18,399
for trouble i'll be careful

195
00:11:16,720 --> 00:11:21,560
your kind are always more dangerous than

196
00:11:18,399 --> 00:11:21,559
the hood

[Music]

198
00:11:32,240 --> 00:11:36,240
what do you know about him clem

199
00:11:34,720 --> 00:11:39,440
nothing much

200
00:11:36,240 --> 00:11:42,959
he's been in here a couple of times

201
00:11:39,440 --> 00:11:42,959
hangs out over the saloon a lot

202
00:11:45,839 --> 00:11:48,640
mr clark knows practically everyone in

203
00:11:47,600 --> 00:11:50,079
town

204
00:11:48,639 --> 00:11:51,120
why don't you see what you can find out

205
00:11:50,078 --> 00:11:56,039
there while i go down to the boat

206
00:11:51,120 --> 00:11:56,039
landing about the more all right i will

207
00:12:07,200 --> 00:12:09,680
well

208
00:12:08,320 --> 00:12:10,959
everything's all set for the big

209
00:12:09,679 --> 00:12:13,278
blow-off

210
00:12:10,958 --> 00:12:16,278
sure would like to see it from a safe

211
00:12:13,278 --> 00:12:16,278
distance

212
00:12:50,480 --> 00:12:54,959
sam

213
00:12:53,278 --> 00:12:56,720
sam oh

214
00:12:54,958 --> 00:12:58,638
yes sir

215
00:12:56,720 --> 00:13:00,800
there's a mr howard down at clark's land

216
00:12:58,639 --> 00:13:03,919
office he's wearing a dark suit and a

217
00:13:00,799 --> 00:13:06,399
flat brimmed hat uh mr howard

218
00:13:03,919 --> 00:13:08,319
the dark suit the flat rim the hat

219
00:13:06,399 --> 00:13:10,720
that's right tell him lawton's at the

220
00:13:08,320 --> 00:13:14,278
boatland and for him to come here got

221
00:13:10,720 --> 00:13:14,278
that yeah

222
00:13:31,839 --> 00:13:35,839
well just how does captain flint intend

223
00:13:33,679 --> 00:13:37,679
to work this thing well there's nothing

224
00:13:35,839 --> 00:13:39,440
good as soon as they get on the other

225
00:13:37,679 --> 00:13:41,359
side of big ben he'll point to dixie

226
00:13:39,440 --> 00:13:44,079
bell head on to the levee and they'll

227
00:13:41,360 --> 00:13:47,769
light the fuse and take off and his skip

228
00:13:44,078 --> 00:13:50,239
now they're playing the big

229
00:13:47,769 --> 00:13:51,838
[Music]

230
00:13:50,240 --> 00:13:53,360
well miss borton

231
00:13:51,839 --> 00:13:58,290
meddling in another people's business

232
00:13:53,360 --> 00:14:03,820
huh let me go let me go get over there

233
00:13:58,289 --> 00:14:03,819
[Music]

234
00:14:12,559 --> 00:14:16,159
stand watch at the door i'll go tell

235
00:14:14,720 --> 00:14:19,399
captain flint to hold the boat till we

236
00:14:16,159 --> 00:14:19,399
get her aboard

237
00:14:19,440 --> 00:14:30,070
[Music]

238
00:14:35,519 --> 00:14:38,480

239
00:14:36,958 --> 00:14:39,439
sorry i couldn't be more healthy mr

240
00:14:38,480 --> 00:14:40,879
howard

241
00:14:39,440 --> 00:14:42,959
like i told you we have quite a few

242
00:14:40,879 --> 00:14:45,198
tough characters around here but i

243
00:14:42,958 --> 00:14:47,039
i don't place this man lawton

244
00:14:45,198 --> 00:14:49,439
thanks for trying anyhow mr clark quite

245
00:14:47,039 --> 00:14:49,439
all right

246
00:14:51,679 --> 00:14:55,958
see you later come in anytime

247
00:14:58,078 --> 00:15:01,599
well pardon me sir is you all got a

248
00:15:00,240 --> 00:15:03,839
match

249
00:15:01,600 --> 00:15:03,839
sure

250
00:15:04,559 --> 00:15:06,879
thank you

251
00:15:07,839 --> 00:15:13,519
black suit

252
00:15:09,440 --> 00:15:17,279

253
00:15:13,519 --> 00:15:19,839
uh mr howardson yes what is it well uh

254
00:15:17,278 --> 00:15:21,120

255
00:15:19,839 --> 00:15:23,360
that uh

256
00:15:21,120 --> 00:15:25,360
lawton is at the steamboat landing and

257
00:15:23,360 --> 00:15:27,759
you all better come down there is that

258
00:15:25,360 --> 00:15:31,199
all she said that's all sir

259
00:15:27,759 --> 00:15:33,519
but uh she looked mighty worried where's

260
00:15:31,198 --> 00:15:35,519
the steamboat landing well sir you go

261
00:15:33,519 --> 00:15:37,759
down here to the corner and you turn and

262
00:15:35,519 --> 00:15:40,959
it's right over there

263
00:15:37,759 --> 00:15:44,680

264
00:15:40,958 --> 00:15:44,679

you've seen ms anne bolt i ain't seen

270
00:16:13,198 --> 00:16:17,198
any lady in here i just come in as the

271
00:16:15,278 --> 00:16:20,490
dixie bell was casting off

272
00:16:17,198 --> 00:16:56,159
as a matter of fact i

273
00:16:20,490 --> 00:16:57,759
[Music]

274
00:16:56,159 --> 00:16:59,198
we just passed the big bend i gotta get

275
00:16:57,759 --> 00:17:00,720
this glass set

276
00:16:59,198 --> 00:17:04,919
carefully to spark so you'll blow this

277
00:17:00,720 --> 00:17:04,920
stuff out of the water yes sir

278
00:17:08,519 --> 00:17:12,129

[Applause]

282
00:17:44,880 --> 00:17:47,840
what do you want to do with a girl toss

283
00:17:46,640 --> 00:17:49,280
her overboard

284
00:17:47,839 --> 00:17:51,119
no her body had washed her short and

285
00:17:49,279 --> 00:17:53,629
there'd be an investigation we'll let

286
00:17:51,119 --> 00:18:15,599
her blow up with the levee

[Music]

288
00:18:15,599 --> 00:18:18,480

289
00:18:20,319 --> 00:18:41,828
and tie the girl

[Music]

299
00:19:53,519 --> 00:19:56,480
just because the dixie bell blew up

300
00:19:55,200 --> 00:19:59,519
there's no reason why we shouldn't go

301
00:19:56,480 --> 00:20:01,759
ahead and destroy the levee anyway

302
00:19:59,519 --> 00:20:03,440
that's what you think howard warned the

303
00:20:01,759 --> 00:20:05,440
farmers and every foot of that levee's

304
00:20:03,440 --> 00:20:06,798
being guarded day and night well that's

305
00:20:05,440 --> 00:20:08,240
bad

306
00:20:06,798 --> 00:20:09,759
every moment of delay increases the

307
00:20:08,240 --> 00:20:12,000
danger that someone will learn as a lake

308
00:20:09,759 --> 00:20:14,158
of oil under the peaceful valley farms

309
00:20:12,000 --> 00:20:15,359
that ain't likely it wasn't likely that

310
00:20:14,159 --> 00:20:16,799
howard would learn of our plot to

311
00:20:15,359 --> 00:20:19,119
destroy the levy and show up aboard the

312
00:20:16,798 --> 00:20:20,480
dixie bell but he did

313
00:20:19,119 --> 00:20:22,399
you'll have to find a way to draw the

314
00:20:20,480 --> 00:20:24,558
guards off the levee

315
00:20:22,400 --> 00:20:26,320
in the meantime continue your raids

316
00:20:24,558 --> 00:20:29,839
attack the wilkie farm this afternoon

317
00:20:26,319 --> 00:20:29,839
i'll get word to my men right away

318
00:20:31,839 --> 00:20:36,480
as a detective i'm a washout i couldn't

319
00:20:34,480 --> 00:20:38,400
find out who owned the dixie bell or

320
00:20:36,480 --> 00:20:40,079
anything about it

321
00:20:38,400 --> 00:20:41,759
hey what about lawton

322
00:20:40,079 --> 00:20:42,798
you and ann have enough on him to hang

323
00:20:41,759 --> 00:20:46,400
him

324
00:20:42,798 --> 00:20:47,440
yes jesse why not have lawton arrested

325
00:20:46,400 --> 00:20:49,759
well for

326
00:20:47,440 --> 00:20:51,519
two reasons

327
00:20:49,759 --> 00:20:53,919
first until folks around here get used

328
00:20:51,519 --> 00:20:55,359
to me as jc howard

329
00:20:53,919 --> 00:20:57,120
i don't think jesse james should be

330
00:20:55,359 --> 00:20:59,199
rubbing elbows with the law

331
00:20:57,119 --> 00:21:00,798
second lawton is the only man we can

332
00:20:59,200 --> 00:21:03,679
identify as a member of the raiders

333
00:21:00,798 --> 00:21:05,519
outfit leaving him free to whack we

334
00:21:03,679 --> 00:21:08,400
might be able to establish some sort of

335
00:21:05,519 --> 00:21:10,240
contact like us buying an enemy count

336
00:21:08,400 --> 00:21:13,038
hey that's a ticket

337
00:21:10,240 --> 00:21:14,480
and i'm elected list lawton don't know

338
00:21:13,038 --> 00:21:15,839
me no steve

339
00:21:14,480 --> 00:21:18,798
if they find out who you are they'll

340
00:21:15,839 --> 00:21:21,279
kill you we'll all be killed if we don't

341
00:21:18,798 --> 00:21:23,440
and if i can get one's confidence or we

342
00:21:21,279 --> 00:21:25,119
can find out who's behind these raiders

343
00:21:23,440 --> 00:21:27,919
why he might even lead me to the big

344
00:21:25,119 --> 00:21:30,158
boss himself it's dangerous steve

345
00:21:27,919 --> 00:21:31,679
remember what we used to do to spies

346
00:21:30,159 --> 00:21:33,039
they're not trying to scare me are you

347
00:21:31,679 --> 00:21:34,720
jesse

348
00:21:33,038 --> 00:21:36,319
all right steve

349
00:21:34,720 --> 00:21:38,558
let's find lawton and pull the old army

350
00:21:36,319 --> 00:21:40,879
game on hey he hangs out a lot at that

351
00:21:38,558 --> 00:21:43,440
paradise saloon in town good let's get

352
00:21:40,880 --> 00:21:45,520
started be careful steve

353
00:21:43,440 --> 00:21:48,120
aren't you worried about me and of

354
00:21:45,519 --> 00:21:54,400

368
00:22:51,200 --> 00:22:55,120

explain all you know about the dixie

370
00:22:55,119 --> 00:22:58,909

381
00:24:50,880 --> 00:24:53,840
i'd help a pole cat if the sheriff was

382
00:24:52,798 --> 00:24:55,359
after him

383
00:24:53,839 --> 00:24:57,119
sure

384
00:24:55,359 --> 00:24:59,359
that wasn't a sheriff there's a guy

385
00:24:57,119 --> 00:25:00,479
named howard i've been messing in my

386
00:24:59,359 --> 00:25:02,158
affairs

387
00:25:00,480 --> 00:25:04,079
but i've known it was a private feud i

388
00:25:02,159 --> 00:25:05,919
wouldn't have butted in

389
00:25:04,079 --> 00:25:08,158
i'm glad you did

390
00:25:05,919 --> 00:25:09,840
i can use a fella like you in my setup

391
00:25:08,159 --> 00:25:12,799
nobody uses me

392
00:25:09,839 --> 00:25:14,798
oh calm down you're out after money

393
00:25:12,798 --> 00:25:15,679
ain't you i know where there's plenty of

394
00:25:14,798 --> 00:25:18,079
it

395
00:25:15,679 --> 00:25:19,519
oh it's different

396
00:25:18,079 --> 00:25:22,000
what's the point

397
00:25:19,519 --> 00:25:26,200
ah you're talking right out to my camp

398
00:25:22,000 --> 00:25:26,200
with me and i'll explain on the way

399
00:25:35,779 --> 00:25:43,108
[Music]

400
00:25:50,000 --> 00:25:56,690
[Music]

401
00:26:00,839 --> 00:26:12,079
[Music]

402
00:26:09,038 --> 00:26:14,158

407
00:26:22,798 --> 00:26:27,599
hey what's the purpose of these raids we

408
00:26:25,200 --> 00:26:29,120
get any money or cattle or what we want

409
00:26:27,599 --> 00:26:30,319
those farms that's enough for you to

410
00:26:29,119 --> 00:26:32,158
know right now

411
00:26:30,319 --> 00:26:34,480
okay but if i grab any luke this

412
00:26:32,159 --> 00:26:35,760

415
00:26:38,000 --> 00:26:41,759

416
00:26:38,880 --> 00:26:44,760
gloves ready hide in town i'll take you

417
00:26:41,759 --> 00:26:44,759
up

418
00:26:55,460 --> 00:27:03,480
[Music]

419
00:26:59,519 --> 00:27:03,480
take any seat in the house

420
00:27:05,519 --> 00:27:18,170
[Music]

421
00:27:21,038 --> 00:27:24,038
hmm

422
00:27:45,279 --> 00:28:11,389
[Music]

423
00:28:15,278 --> 00:28:18,319
all right men don't fire until i give

424
00:28:17,200 --> 00:28:20,798
you the word

425
00:28:18,319 --> 00:28:20,798
understand

426
00:28:22,558 --> 00:28:28,359
it's nearly three now

427
00:28:24,880 --> 00:28:28,360
get out of sight

428
00:28:32,309 --> 00:28:39,389
[Music]

429
00:28:40,079 --> 00:28:45,720
come on

430
00:28:41,519 --> 00:28:45,720
get ready men here they come

431
00:28:46,398 --> 00:28:49,398
fire

432
00:28:49,920 --> 00:29:09,779
[Music]

433
00:29:08,029 --> 00:29:22,949
[Applause]

434
00:29:09,779 --> 00:29:22,949
[Music]

435
00:29:26,710 --> 00:29:41,680
[Music]

436
00:29:39,038 --> 00:29:48,170
fire and run it down on the house

437
00:29:41,680 --> 00:29:50,110
[Music]

438
00:29:48,170 --> 00:29:59,259
[Applause]

439
00:29:50,109 --> 00:29:59,259
[Music]

440
00:30:02,558 --> 00:30:08,440
it's going to hit the house

441
00:30:04,480 --> 00:30:08,440
i think i can stop it

442
00:30:13,789 --> 00:30:16,970
[Music]

443
00:30:21,359 --> 00:30:24,319
[Music]

444
00:30:22,720 --> 00:30:26,798
we can't flush them out now let's get

445
00:30:24,319 --> 00:30:26,798
out of here

446
00:30:28,299 --> 00:30:33,278
[Music]

447
00:30:31,038 --> 00:30:36,278
looks like our trick worked they're sure

448
00:30:33,278 --> 00:30:36,278
leaving

449
00:30:37,200 --> 00:30:41,200
when the wagons turned over we had to

450
00:30:39,119 --> 00:30:42,798
clear out that's great

451
00:30:41,200 --> 00:30:44,159
a few more mistakes like this we might

452
00:30:42,798 --> 00:30:46,398
as well let the farmers know what we're

453
00:30:44,159 --> 00:30:48,000
after what are you so worried about no

454
00:30:46,398 --> 00:30:50,398
one knows who's oil under that land

455
00:30:48,000 --> 00:30:51,519
except us no but they might

456
00:30:50,398 --> 00:30:53,439
that's why we've got to get positioned

457
00:30:51,519 --> 00:30:54,798
before anybody finds out

458
00:30:53,440 --> 00:30:57,840
the only way to do that is to scare

459
00:30:54,798 --> 00:30:57,839
those farmers into selling

460
00:30:59,759 --> 00:31:03,679
yeah we're doing all right until that

461
00:31:01,440 --> 00:31:05,038
howard guy showed up wonder how he knew

462
00:31:03,679 --> 00:31:06,960
about the raid and time to warn the

463
00:31:05,038 --> 00:31:09,359
farmers the information must have come

464
00:31:06,960 --> 00:31:11,360
from one of the raiders not a chance my

465
00:31:09,359 --> 00:31:14,558
men are all okay even the new one you

466
00:31:11,359 --> 00:31:16,558
took on yesterday yes even him i'll keep

467
00:31:14,558 --> 00:31:18,720
an eye on him anyway

468
00:31:16,558 --> 00:31:21,038
just to be on the safe side you better

469
00:31:18,720 --> 00:31:22,960
move your outfit over to echo cave

470
00:31:21,038 --> 00:31:24,640
all right but i still think we ought to

471
00:31:22,960 --> 00:31:26,558
do something about that howard guy and

472
00:31:24,640 --> 00:31:28,000
i'll do the thinking around here and

473
00:31:26,558 --> 00:31:29,678
right now it's much wiser just to watch

474
00:31:28,000 --> 00:31:31,359
every move he makes

475
00:31:29,679 --> 00:31:33,679
i want to know what he's doing all the

476
00:31:31,359 --> 00:31:35,038
time

477
00:31:33,679 --> 00:31:38,480
i'll send a couple of men over to the

478
00:31:35,038 --> 00:31:38,480
voting place to keep an eye on him

479
00:31:43,440 --> 00:31:46,798
all we know is that lawton's their

480
00:31:44,640 --> 00:31:48,159
leader but who's behind him and what's

481
00:31:46,798 --> 00:31:49,918
the reason for all this violence and

482
00:31:48,159 --> 00:31:51,679
terrorism well honey if we had the

483
00:31:49,919 --> 00:31:55,278
answer to those questions we wouldn't

484
00:31:51,679 --> 00:31:55,278
have to be cleaning these firearms

485
00:31:58,839 --> 00:32:04,720
now sometimes it all seems so useless

486
00:32:02,640 --> 00:32:07,038
you're worried about steve aren't you

487
00:32:04,720 --> 00:32:08,399
yes and about you too

488
00:32:07,038 --> 00:32:10,158
suppose someone should accidentally

489
00:32:08,398 --> 00:32:12,479
discover that mr howard is really the

490
00:32:10,159 --> 00:32:13,840
notorious jesse james

491
00:32:12,480 --> 00:32:14,798
we'll worry about that when the time

492
00:32:13,839 --> 00:32:16,319
comes

493
00:32:14,798 --> 00:32:18,480
in the meantime it's more important to

494
00:32:16,319 --> 00:32:20,158
keep an eye on the raiders hideout steve

495
00:32:18,480 --> 00:32:21,360
might have some important information

496
00:32:20,159 --> 00:32:25,799
for us

497
00:32:21,359 --> 00:32:25,798
when do we start right now

498
00:32:29,480 --> 00:32:32,558
[Music]

499
00:32:43,640 --> 00:32:50,160
[Music]

500
00:32:54,398 --> 00:32:58,239
we're pulling out here where to bolt

501
00:32:56,398 --> 00:33:00,000
echo cave you

502
00:32:58,240 --> 00:33:03,558
help trend round up the horses never

503
00:33:00,000 --> 00:33:03,558
mind the other stuff

504
00:33:11,230 --> 00:33:19,078
[Music]

505
00:33:21,839 --> 00:33:29,499
mmm

506
00:33:23,589 --> 00:33:29,499
[Music]

507
00:33:36,640 --> 00:33:40,720
i thought i told you to help with the

508
00:33:38,240 --> 00:33:40,720
horses

509
00:33:42,000 --> 00:33:45,278
i'm in no hurry lawton

510
00:33:44,079 --> 00:33:47,119
well i am

511
00:33:45,278 --> 00:33:48,720
this outfit you take orders from me or

512
00:33:47,119 --> 00:33:51,119
else

513
00:33:48,720 --> 00:33:52,720
or else i go my way nobody's going

514
00:33:51,119 --> 00:33:55,918
anyplace until i find out how that

515
00:33:52,720 --> 00:33:55,919
wilkie deal got fouled up

516
00:33:57,038 --> 00:34:01,038
this gun handle's not easy lawton and i

517
00:33:59,519 --> 00:34:04,038
don't like to use it on any of my

518
00:34:01,038 --> 00:34:04,038
friends

519
00:34:07,679 --> 00:34:12,838
forget it

520
00:34:08,800 --> 00:34:12,839
i must have lost my temper

521
00:34:15,489 --> 00:34:26,820
[Music]

522
00:34:28,480 --> 00:34:33,199
it seems deserted

523
00:34:30,398 --> 00:34:33,199
sure does

524
00:34:33,358 --> 00:34:37,078
let's take a look around

525
00:34:38,829 --> 00:34:42,059
[Music]

526
00:34:44,829 --> 00:34:47,920
[Music]

527
00:34:54,000 --> 00:34:57,280
you're right there doesn't seem to be

528
00:34:55,280 --> 00:34:58,640
anyone around

529
00:34:57,280 --> 00:35:00,640
they must be coming back because they

530
00:34:58,639 --> 00:35:03,679
left some of their stuff

531
00:35:00,639 --> 00:35:06,960
i wonder where they went

532
00:35:03,679 --> 00:35:06,960
wait a minute here's something

533
00:35:11,039 --> 00:35:15,358
steve and i used cars to send code

534
00:35:12,719 --> 00:35:17,279
messages when we were in the army

535
00:35:15,358 --> 00:35:18,319
the tornace of spades always indicated

536
00:35:17,280 --> 00:35:21,599
trouble

537
00:35:18,320 --> 00:35:21,599
then steve must be in trouble

538
00:35:23,679 --> 00:35:27,598
see these marks

539
00:35:25,760 --> 00:35:31,839
when the cards are arranged in suits and

540
00:35:27,599 --> 00:35:31,838
stacked they should tell us something

541
00:35:32,690 --> 00:35:39,280
[Music]

542
00:35:36,639 --> 00:35:41,039
i'm gonna see what made that rabbit jump

543
00:35:39,280 --> 00:35:42,400
meantime you stay here and sort these in

544
00:35:41,039 --> 00:35:45,559
suits

545
00:35:42,400 --> 00:35:45,559
all right

546
00:35:51,250 --> 00:36:01,690
[Music]

547
00:36:08,079 --> 00:36:11,880
get those hands up

548
00:36:12,219 --> 00:36:16,639
[Music]

549
00:36:17,358 --> 00:36:20,598
get moving

550
00:36:28,559 --> 00:36:32,880
a couple of snoopers

551
00:36:30,639 --> 00:36:36,519
we'll hold them for the sheriff

552
00:36:32,880 --> 00:36:36,519
over by that tree

553
00:36:38,590 --> 00:36:43,010
[Music]

554
00:36:47,199 --> 00:36:50,919
you can cover to him

555
00:36:51,320 --> 00:37:05,090
[Music]

556
00:36:59,210 --> 00:37:27,570
[Applause]

557
00:37:05,090 --> 00:37:30,370
[Music]

558
00:37:27,570 --> 00:37:30,550
[Applause]

559
00:37:30,369 --> 00:37:37,978
[Music]

560
00:37:30,550 --> 00:37:37,979
[Applause]

561
00:37:39,010 --> 00:37:56,480
[Music]

562
00:37:54,639 --> 00:37:58,319
it's too late to go after the other one

563
00:37:56,480 --> 00:38:01,440
besides the message on these cards is

564
00:37:58,320 --> 00:38:01,440
probably more important

565
00:38:02,239 --> 00:38:07,519
echocave

566
00:38:05,039 --> 00:38:09,358
that's where they must have gone

567
00:38:07,519 --> 00:38:10,880
and that's where i'm going

568
00:38:09,358 --> 00:38:12,880
in the meantime you get the sheriff and

569
00:38:10,880 --> 00:38:15,190
his deputies and come to echo cave let's

570
00:38:12,880 --> 00:38:23,200
get to our horses

571
00:38:15,190 --> 00:38:24,639
[Music]

572
00:38:23,199 --> 00:38:26,559
you never did tell me much about that

573
00:38:24,639 --> 00:38:28,319
outfit you were with down in texas

574
00:38:26,559 --> 00:38:29,440
there's a lot i don't know about you

575
00:38:28,320 --> 00:38:31,838
either

576
00:38:29,440 --> 00:38:33,119
so that should make it kind of even that

577
00:38:31,838 --> 00:38:34,400
sharp tongue of yours is going to get

578
00:38:33,119 --> 00:38:36,720
you in a lot of trouble some of these

579
00:38:34,400 --> 00:38:36,720
days

580
00:38:37,519 --> 00:38:41,440
howard caught us at the camp i managed

581
00:38:39,440 --> 00:38:42,960
to get away would you come here for you

582
00:38:41,440 --> 00:38:45,358
might have been followed don't worry

583
00:38:42,960 --> 00:38:47,039
don't worry i was in the clear besides

584
00:38:45,358 --> 00:38:50,159
he seemed to be more interested in some

585
00:38:47,039 --> 00:38:52,159
cards laying around than anything else

586
00:38:50,159 --> 00:38:55,118
cards huh

587
00:38:52,159 --> 00:38:56,960
stand watch outside i uh kind of

588
00:38:55,119 --> 00:39:00,599
misplaced my gun

589
00:38:56,960 --> 00:39:00,599
misplaced it

590
00:39:08,960 --> 00:39:11,760
all right what'd you do that deck of

591
00:39:10,320 --> 00:39:13,359
cards

592
00:39:11,760 --> 00:39:14,800
you're jumping in conclusions again

593
00:39:13,358 --> 00:39:16,880
lawton

594
00:39:14,800 --> 00:39:21,720
am i

595
00:39:16,880 --> 00:39:21,720
we'll see about that sit down

596
00:39:25,579 --> 00:39:46,078
[Music]

597
00:39:42,320 --> 00:39:46,079
howard's heading this way yeah

598
00:39:46,340 --> 00:39:50,160
[Music]

599
00:39:49,119 --> 00:39:52,160
now

600
00:39:50,159 --> 00:39:53,440
i got a better idea

601
00:39:52,159 --> 00:39:55,440
i'm going to give you a chance to prove

602
00:39:53,440 --> 00:39:57,838
that i'm all wrong about you give me

603
00:39:55,440 --> 00:39:57,838
that gun

604
00:39:58,719 --> 00:40:02,879
i'm gonna leave one shell in this gun

605
00:40:01,280 --> 00:40:04,560
when howard steps through that entrance

606
00:40:02,880 --> 00:40:07,280
shoot to kill

607
00:40:04,559 --> 00:40:10,679
there'll be curtains for both of you

608
00:40:07,280 --> 00:40:10,680
get over there

609
00:40:13,090 --> 00:40:33,309
[Music]

610
00:41:24,139 --> 00:41:31,920
[Music]

611
00:41:34,880 --> 00:41:38,200
now howard

612
00:41:40,519 --> 00:42:20,639
[Music]

613
00:42:18,639 --> 00:42:22,960
you all right steve

614
00:42:20,639 --> 00:42:24,719
yeah i'm all right we better look around

615
00:42:22,960 --> 00:42:26,720
might find something that'll tip off why

616
00:42:24,719 --> 00:42:30,118
the farmers are being raided or who's in

617
00:42:26,719 --> 00:42:30,118
back of the raids

618
00:42:30,809 --> 00:42:36,519
[Music]

619
00:42:38,318 --> 00:42:41,039
hey jesse

620
00:42:42,800 --> 00:42:47,079
these saddlebags belong to love

621
00:43:00,400 --> 00:43:03,599
maybe it ain't important but that map

622
00:43:02,079 --> 00:43:05,039
we've been working from was in my

623
00:43:03,599 --> 00:43:06,720
saddlebags

624
00:43:05,039 --> 00:43:08,000
i looked for them after they'd gone but

625
00:43:06,719 --> 00:43:10,000
couldn't find them

626
00:43:08,000 --> 00:43:12,559
that double cross and joneser howard

627
00:43:10,000 --> 00:43:14,559
must have got him what

628
00:43:12,559 --> 00:43:15,759
why that map shows where i intended real

629
00:43:14,559 --> 00:43:18,000
test wells after we've cleared the

630
00:43:15,760 --> 00:43:20,319
farmers off and got their lands it was

631
00:43:18,000 --> 00:43:22,719
just a map with some cross marks on it

632
00:43:20,318 --> 00:43:24,318
just a map well that's enough

633
00:43:22,719 --> 00:43:26,239
those cross marks with relation to the

634
00:43:24,318 --> 00:43:27,759
contour lines would show any expert that

635
00:43:26,239 --> 00:43:29,358
oil is suspected to be under peaceful

636
00:43:27,760 --> 00:43:31,599
valley

637
00:43:29,358 --> 00:43:33,039
if that information gets out no amount

638
00:43:31,599 --> 00:43:34,480
of burning or rating would get us

639
00:43:33,039 --> 00:43:37,440
another acre

640
00:43:34,480 --> 00:43:39,838
we'd lose a fortune it ain't lost yet

641
00:43:37,440 --> 00:43:41,200
the map was hidden a secret pocket

642
00:43:39,838 --> 00:43:42,799
good

643
00:43:41,199 --> 00:43:45,039
but we're not safe as long as they have

644
00:43:42,800 --> 00:43:46,720
those saddle bags send one of your men

645
00:43:45,039 --> 00:43:49,039
out to the bolton farm and be sure he

646
00:43:46,719 --> 00:43:52,039
keeps an eye on howard

647
00:43:49,039 --> 00:43:52,039
right

648
00:43:53,050 --> 00:43:56,369
[Music]

649
00:43:57,838 --> 00:44:00,880
this stuff you found an echo cave don't

650
00:43:59,599 --> 00:44:02,559
tell us much

651
00:44:00,880 --> 00:44:04,640
no but this black raiders outfit is

652
00:44:02,559 --> 00:44:06,078
important evidence against law

653
00:44:04,639 --> 00:44:08,480
it should be enough for the sheriff to

654
00:44:06,079 --> 00:44:10,000
act on i hope so

655
00:44:08,480 --> 00:44:11,039
barton must be the leader of the black

656
00:44:10,000 --> 00:44:12,719
raiders

657
00:44:11,039 --> 00:44:14,318
maybe if he's put in jail there'll be an

658
00:44:12,719 --> 00:44:16,078
end to these raids and people being

659
00:44:14,318 --> 00:44:18,000
killed i'll get this to the sheriff

660
00:44:16,079 --> 00:44:19,760
right away

661
00:44:18,000 --> 00:44:21,440
oh you better be careful

662
00:44:19,760 --> 00:44:22,960
didn't exactly say for jesse james to go

663
00:44:21,440 --> 00:44:24,480
calling on the sheriff

664
00:44:22,960 --> 00:44:26,318
i know but the sheriff doesn't have my

665
00:44:24,480 --> 00:44:27,920
picture as far as he knows i'm your

666
00:44:26,318 --> 00:44:30,880
friend mr howard

667
00:44:27,920 --> 00:44:30,880
not jesse james

668
00:44:34,960 --> 00:44:38,400
dad's right jessie you'd better be

669
00:44:36,559 --> 00:44:40,559
careful there might be some of those

670
00:44:38,400 --> 00:44:43,760
pinkertons around town

671
00:44:40,559 --> 00:44:47,078
she's sure the wearing type hey steve

672
00:44:43,760 --> 00:44:47,079

675
00:44:56,159 --> 00:45:01,078
no he's got to come by here on his way

676
00:44:57,599 --> 00:45:01,079

685
00:45:57,039 --> 00:46:00,239

689
00:46:04,559 --> 00:46:07,440
fellow down the river has always had a

690
00:46:06,079 --> 00:46:09,599
bit of trouble

691
00:46:07,440 --> 00:46:11,679
wants to sell out cheap

692
00:46:09,599 --> 00:46:14,559

702
00:48:06,639 --> 00:48:09,920
what i came to he was gone

703
00:48:13,199 --> 00:48:15,838
let's take another look at these saddle

704
00:48:14,639 --> 00:48:17,279
bags

705
00:48:15,838 --> 00:48:18,799
nothing's gone to a lot of trouble to

706
00:48:17,280 --> 00:48:21,839
get them back

707
00:48:18,800 --> 00:48:21,839
must be mighty important

[Music]

712
00:49:14,400 --> 00:49:21,119
it's a map of peaceful valley

713
00:49:17,519 --> 00:49:23,599
this cross here marks the bolton farm

714
00:49:21,119 --> 00:49:26,880
doesn't make sense

715
00:49:23,599 --> 00:49:29,680
it's a topographical map

716
00:49:26,880 --> 00:49:31,358
i've gotta hunch these crosses here

717
00:49:29,679 --> 00:49:33,598
mark the farms the raiders intend to

718
00:49:31,358 --> 00:49:33,598
visit

719
00:49:33,838 --> 00:49:38,078
if we can find out what farms they are

720
00:49:36,559 --> 00:49:39,839
we'll be able to hand the raiders are

721
00:49:38,079 --> 00:49:42,960
welcome they won't forget

722
00:49:39,838 --> 00:49:44,719
may be right out but i i still don't see

723
00:49:42,960 --> 00:49:46,240
you got a plot map showing who owns the

724
00:49:44,719 --> 00:49:49,039
farms hereabouts

725
00:49:46,239 --> 00:49:49,039
i may have

726
00:49:51,920 --> 00:49:57,519
this is the only thing i have

727
00:49:54,318 --> 00:49:59,759
may show something it may not

728
00:49:57,519 --> 00:50:02,480
just as you surmised

729
00:49:59,760 --> 00:50:04,559
there's the bolton farm

730
00:50:02,480 --> 00:50:07,280
this is the wilkie place

731
00:50:04,559 --> 00:50:08,640
that proves my point

732
00:50:07,280 --> 00:50:10,400
both places have been attacked by the

733
00:50:08,639 --> 00:50:12,078
raiders

734
00:50:10,400 --> 00:50:14,318
now i've got to find out the location of

735
00:50:12,079 --> 00:50:16,079
the other farms marked by the crosses

736
00:50:14,318 --> 00:50:17,920
i'm sorry i don't have a full-scale map

737
00:50:16,079 --> 00:50:19,680
of the entire valley but

738
00:50:17,920 --> 00:50:21,599
if you leave this one with me i'll

739
00:50:19,679 --> 00:50:23,440
try to locate one no it might cause you

740
00:50:21,599 --> 00:50:25,119
too much trouble besides i want the

741
00:50:23,440 --> 00:50:26,559
information in the hurry

742
00:50:25,119 --> 00:50:28,318
i'll take the night boat down the river

743
00:50:26,559 --> 00:50:29,760
to the county seat

744
00:50:28,318 --> 00:50:31,920
they'll have a larger scale map of the

745
00:50:29,760 --> 00:50:32,800
valley in the surveyor's office see you

746
00:50:31,920 --> 00:50:35,700
later

747
00:50:32,800 --> 00:51:09,129
good luck

bend

756
00:52:39,519 --> 00:52:45,280
no clues to identity of drowned man

757
00:52:43,358 --> 00:52:47,838
corpse may be identified and claimed

758
00:52:45,280 --> 00:52:50,720
that little ben wharf

759
00:52:47,838 --> 00:52:53,199
yep that's our friend howard all right

760
00:52:50,719 --> 00:52:55,199
human did a good job one

761
00:52:53,199 --> 00:52:57,118
good but not complete

762
00:52:55,199 --> 00:52:59,039
what do you mean howard was our most

763
00:52:57,119 --> 00:53:00,480
dangerous enemy and he's still dangerous

764
00:52:59,039 --> 00:53:02,159
as a corpse remember he had the

765
00:53:00,480 --> 00:53:03,599
geological map of the oil lands in his

766
00:53:02,159 --> 00:53:05,199
pocket

767
00:53:03,599 --> 00:53:07,519
if that map falls into the hands of an

768
00:53:05,199 --> 00:53:08,960
expert our whole scheme for securing

769
00:53:07,519 --> 00:53:10,559
those lands and the oil beneath them

770
00:53:08,960 --> 00:53:12,079
will be wrecked well but chief the water

771
00:53:10,559 --> 00:53:14,720
must have ruined the map

772
00:53:12,079 --> 00:53:17,760
or made it unreadable you think so but

773
00:53:14,719 --> 00:53:17,759
we've got to know

774
00:53:17,920 --> 00:53:23,440
gus simmons knows howard by sight

775
00:53:21,280 --> 00:53:24,640
have him go out there get the map

776
00:53:23,440 --> 00:53:27,599
and bring it to you at the camp in

777
00:53:24,639 --> 00:53:29,759
sandstone canyon what a a

778
00:53:27,599 --> 00:53:32,240
of course not

779
00:53:29,760 --> 00:53:35,520
have him identify the body of howard is

780
00:53:32,239 --> 00:53:35,519
that of a lost relative

781
00:53:37,300 --> 00:53:41,900
[Music]

782
00:53:40,380 --> 00:53:45,099
[Applause]

783
00:53:41,900 --> 00:53:45,099
[Music]

784
00:53:51,039 --> 00:53:56,880
that's johnny i'm sure but

785
00:53:53,199 --> 00:53:58,799
i ain't seen him for quite some time

786
00:53:56,880 --> 00:54:00,400
well you better be sure

787
00:53:58,800 --> 00:54:01,519
but take your time

788
00:54:00,400 --> 00:54:03,280
the stuff that we took out of his

789
00:54:01,519 --> 00:54:05,519
pockets now on the table

790
00:54:03,280 --> 00:54:09,280
that might help you identify him

791
00:54:05,519 --> 00:54:16,288
i'll be up on the wharf if you want me

792
00:54:09,280 --> 00:54:16,289
[Music]

793
00:54:19,110 --> 00:54:26,760
[Music]

794
00:54:39,050 --> 00:54:53,839
[Music]

795
00:54:49,280 --> 00:54:53,839
are you one of the men who killed me

796
00:54:54,309 --> 00:54:59,219
[Music]

797
00:55:03,280 --> 00:55:10,160
oh hello i didn't do it i wasn't there

798
00:55:07,679 --> 00:55:13,358
no don't touch me who sent you here for

799
00:55:10,159 --> 00:55:16,078
that map look lawton sent me here

800
00:55:13,358 --> 00:55:18,318
who gives lawton his orders i don't know

801
00:55:16,079 --> 00:55:21,280
none of us know the name of the chief we

802
00:55:18,318 --> 00:55:23,440
we just work for lawton don't lie

803
00:55:21,280 --> 00:55:25,920
spatulas are light of the dead i ain't

804
00:55:23,440 --> 00:55:27,280
lying i'm telling the truth walton told

805
00:55:25,920 --> 00:55:29,599
me to get that map and bring it to him

806
00:55:27,280 --> 00:55:31,800
tonight at the camp at sandstone canyon

807
00:55:29,599 --> 00:55:34,880
that's all i know

808
00:55:31,800 --> 00:55:36,079
[Music]

809
00:55:34,880 --> 00:55:38,559
and you

810
00:55:36,079 --> 00:55:40,160
you went dead huh not very

811
00:55:38,559 --> 00:55:42,240
you see i had a knife in my pocket when

812
00:55:40,159 --> 00:55:43,920
i went into the water and i cut myself

813
00:55:42,239 --> 00:55:45,679
loose in time

814
00:55:43,920 --> 00:55:47,838
thanks for the help hammond now if

815
00:55:45,679 --> 00:55:50,239
you'll get her open tie him up i sure

816
00:55:47,838 --> 00:55:52,558
will mr howard and i'll take him to lock

817
00:55:50,239 --> 00:55:52,558
up too

818
00:55:53,838 --> 00:55:57,279
what'd you learn steve this horse is

819
00:55:55,599 --> 00:56:00,480
outside with one of those black grader

820
00:55:57,280 --> 00:56:03,480
outfits in the saddlebags

821
00:56:00,480 --> 00:56:03,480
good

822
00:56:10,239 --> 00:56:14,000
this is no use to us

823
00:56:12,719 --> 00:56:15,358
but thanks to our frightened friend

824
00:56:14,000 --> 00:56:16,880
there i'll be able to deliver to the

825
00:56:15,358 --> 00:56:21,159
raiders camp tonight

826
00:56:16,880 --> 00:56:21,160
let's get out of here all right

827
00:56:30,798 --> 00:56:34,159
hey looks like there's another job

828
00:56:32,559 --> 00:56:36,640
cooking

829
00:56:34,159 --> 00:56:39,358
yeah maybe lot's still there

830
00:56:36,639 --> 00:56:40,798
we'll deal with him

831
00:56:39,358 --> 00:56:42,558
wait here

832
00:56:40,798 --> 00:56:44,000
if i can play my part well enough i

833
00:56:42,559 --> 00:56:45,119
might be able to find out who their

834
00:56:44,000 --> 00:56:46,880
chief is

835
00:56:45,119 --> 00:56:49,200
now you played the fire mr howard pretty

836
00:56:46,880 --> 00:56:52,200
well jesse james ought to be able to act

837
00:56:49,199 --> 00:56:52,199
abandoned

838
00:56:55,570 --> 00:56:58,789
[Music]

839
00:57:00,639 --> 00:57:03,920
howard out of the way now we can

840
00:57:06,639 --> 00:57:10,920
here comes number 20 with news

841
00:57:12,318 --> 00:57:16,519
dead man was howard all right

842
00:57:22,630 --> 00:57:32,240
[Music]

843
00:57:29,679 --> 00:57:34,399
now that that's settled here's the plan

844
00:57:32,239 --> 00:57:36,639
you men all know where to go when you

845
00:57:34,400 --> 00:57:39,039
see the signal set fire to the fields

846
00:57:36,639 --> 00:57:40,879
when the blaze is well underway

847
00:57:39,039 --> 00:57:42,239
the explosives from the old desmond mine

848
00:57:40,880 --> 00:57:44,720
will be hauled out to blow up in the

849
00:57:42,239 --> 00:57:48,000
levee and complete the destruction

850
00:57:44,719 --> 00:57:50,639
what's the signal for starting the fires

851
00:57:48,000 --> 00:57:50,639
who said that

852
00:57:52,159 --> 00:57:57,920
i did you were number 20 you'd know take

853
00:57:55,280 --> 00:57:57,920
off his mask

854
00:57:59,039 --> 00:58:14,110
howard alive but not for long

855
00:58:03,739 --> 00:58:16,079
[Music]

856
00:58:14,110 --> 00:58:53,358
[Applause]

857
00:58:16,079 --> 00:58:55,199
[Music]

858
00:58:53,358 --> 00:58:57,440
they're going to burn the farms we've

859
00:58:55,199 --> 00:58:59,358
got to stop them what do we do now you

860
00:58:57,440 --> 00:59:00,798
warn the farmers of the coming attack

861
00:58:59,358 --> 00:59:03,480
i've got to ride to the desmond mine to

862
00:59:00,798 --> 00:59:19,269
prevent the levy from being blown up

863
00:59:03,480 --> 00:59:19,269
[Music]

864
00:59:22,719 --> 00:59:25,509
there our perfect raiders are burning a

865
00:59:24,400 --> 00:59:51,729
field

866
00:59:25,510 --> 00:59:51,729
[Music]

867
00:59:52,798 --> 00:59:55,798
do

868
01:00:06,730 --> 01:00:14,929
[Music]

869
01:00:30,639 --> 01:00:33,940
get stuck on the move the whole valley

870
01:00:32,239 --> 01:00:38,178
is a blaze

871
01:00:33,940 --> 01:00:38,179
[Music]

872
01:00:44,519 --> 01:01:06,230
[Music]

873
01:01:11,619 --> 01:01:26,808
[Music]

874
01:01:31,789 --> 01:01:57,380
[Music]

875
01:01:59,610 --> 01:02:26,969
[Music]

876
01:02:34,000 --> 01:02:58,440
[Music]

877
01:02:54,159 --> 01:02:58,440
come out with your hands in the air

878
01:03:04,809 --> 01:03:38,960
[Music]

879
01:03:37,199 --> 01:03:41,118
since you're the principal losers in the

880
01:03:38,960 --> 01:03:42,480
fire started by the black raiders mr

881
01:03:41,119 --> 01:03:44,640
howard asked me to call you together

882
01:03:42,480 --> 01:03:47,679
secretly to discuss ways and means of

883
01:03:44,639 --> 01:03:50,400
dealing with them got any ideas howard

884
01:03:47,679 --> 01:03:52,000
yes i have mr hawks

885
01:03:50,400 --> 01:03:54,318
someone is trying to get every bit of

886
01:03:52,000 --> 01:03:56,880
land in peaceful valley

887
01:03:54,318 --> 01:03:58,558
i guess why i don't know yet

888
01:03:56,880 --> 01:03:59,760
i don't get it

889
01:03:58,559 --> 01:04:01,440
you will

890
01:03:59,760 --> 01:04:03,520
i've got a plan

891
01:04:01,440 --> 01:04:06,000
but i must warn you we must keep our

892
01:04:03,519 --> 01:04:07,358
actions a secret

893
01:04:06,000 --> 01:04:10,239
as i see it

894
01:04:07,358 --> 01:04:12,639
all the raids follow similar events

895
01:04:10,239 --> 01:04:14,399
first the attack on the farmer

896
01:04:12,639 --> 01:04:15,598
second someone makes a cheap offer for

897
01:04:14,400 --> 01:04:17,599
the farm

898
01:04:15,599 --> 01:04:19,280
right that's right

899
01:04:17,599 --> 01:04:21,440
that means you'll all get an offer for

900
01:04:19,280 --> 01:04:23,200
your places sooner or later i'll blow

901
01:04:21,440 --> 01:04:25,679
the head off the first man who tries to

902
01:04:23,199 --> 01:04:27,118
buy me out me too

903
01:04:25,679 --> 01:04:29,199
as i know that would give you a lot of

904
01:04:27,119 --> 01:04:31,599
satisfaction but it won't stop these

905
01:04:29,199 --> 01:04:33,759
raids nor reach the ring leader

906
01:04:31,599 --> 01:04:36,000
my plan is more likely to get results

907
01:04:33,760 --> 01:04:37,760
i'm for anything that will do that just

908
01:04:36,000 --> 01:04:41,358
what is your idea howard

909
01:04:37,760 --> 01:04:43,440
well if a buyer comes to you stall

910
01:04:41,358 --> 01:04:45,679
tell him to come back later

911
01:04:43,440 --> 01:04:48,000
then get word to me at the bolton farm

912
01:04:45,679 --> 01:04:51,679
i'll be near when he shows up and follow

913
01:04:48,000 --> 01:04:54,000
him when he leaves that's a good idea

914
01:04:51,679 --> 01:04:56,000
i'm glad you men approve but i must warn

915
01:04:54,000 --> 01:04:58,079
you again not to discuss our plans with

916
01:04:56,000 --> 01:04:59,519
anyone because i'm convinced it's the

917
01:04:58,079 --> 01:05:01,599
only way to get to the brains of the

918
01:04:59,519 --> 01:05:04,838
organization

919
01:05:01,599 --> 01:05:04,838
see you later

920
01:05:10,559 --> 01:05:14,880
after last night those farmers will be

921
01:05:12,639 --> 01:05:16,558
glad to sell out at any price and that

922
01:05:14,880 --> 01:05:18,720
leaves only the farms below the levee to

923
01:05:16,559 --> 01:05:20,079
take care of

924
01:05:18,719 --> 01:05:21,679
then we won't care who learns that

925
01:05:20,079 --> 01:05:23,519
peaceful valley is right over a lake of

926
01:05:21,679 --> 01:05:26,798
oil

927
01:05:23,519 --> 01:05:28,318
i will make millions

928
01:05:26,798 --> 01:05:31,318
better have austin start buying up the

929
01:05:28,318 --> 01:05:31,318
farms

930
01:05:42,719 --> 01:05:45,919
hawks i told you never to come here i

931
01:05:44,719 --> 01:05:47,279
had to

932
01:05:45,920 --> 01:05:49,599
howard's planning to trail austin when

933
01:05:47,280 --> 01:05:51,599
he shows up to buy the farms howard

934
01:05:49,599 --> 01:05:53,119
nonsense he can't watch them all but the

935
01:05:51,599 --> 01:05:55,760
farmers have agreed to stall austin

936
01:05:53,119 --> 01:05:58,960
until they get word to howard

937
01:05:55,760 --> 01:05:58,960
get word to howard huh

938
01:06:00,559 --> 01:06:04,680
we'll get word to howard ourselves

939
01:06:06,239 --> 01:06:10,159
contact some of your men

940
01:06:08,239 --> 01:06:13,279
have them meet you

941
01:06:10,159 --> 01:06:13,279
hello the house

942
01:06:15,280 --> 01:06:19,039
yes got a message from mr howard i'm

943
01:06:18,079 --> 01:06:20,720
howard

944
01:06:19,039 --> 01:06:22,559
wilkie sent me to tell you the man you

945
01:06:20,719 --> 01:06:24,480
expected has been there and we'll be

946
01:06:22,559 --> 01:06:28,319
back at three o'clock said you know what

947
01:06:24,480 --> 01:06:28,318
he means thanks i do

948
01:06:30,880 --> 01:06:33,599
it looks like your scheme is working mr

949
01:06:32,559 --> 01:06:34,960
james

950
01:06:33,599 --> 01:06:36,720
you'd better call me howard when

951
01:06:34,960 --> 01:06:38,559
strangers are so near

952
01:06:36,719 --> 01:06:40,159
if that man would happen to hear you he

953
01:06:38,559 --> 01:06:43,359
might put two and two together and

954
01:06:40,159 --> 01:06:46,480
realize that i am jesse james i'm sorry

955
01:06:43,358 --> 01:06:49,519
i'll be more careful from now on mr

956
01:06:46,480 --> 01:06:51,119
mr howard that's all right anne

957
01:06:49,519 --> 01:06:51,920
guess i better get started for wookies

958
01:06:51,119 --> 01:06:53,880
place

959
01:06:51,920 --> 01:07:16,240
bye

960
01:06:53,880 --> 01:07:17,059
[Music]

961
01:07:16,239 --> 01:07:24,959
hey dodie

962
01:07:17,059 --> 01:07:26,949
[Music]

963
01:07:24,960 --> 01:07:48,510
that's him all right

964
01:07:26,949 --> 01:07:49,839
[Music]

965
01:07:48,510 --> 01:07:56,480
[Applause]

966
01:07:49,840 --> 01:07:59,880
[Music]

967
01:07:56,480 --> 01:07:59,880
there he is

968
01:08:09,000 --> 01:08:28,010
[Music]

969
01:08:26,000 --> 01:08:57,368
fellas looking for something

970
01:08:28,010 --> 01:08:57,369
[Music]

971
01:09:01,180 --> 01:09:27,329
[Music]

972
01:09:29,439 --> 01:09:33,198
well hello howard

973
01:09:31,279 --> 01:09:35,679
what are you doing here you sent for me

974
01:09:33,198 --> 01:09:37,039
didn't you a writer came by and told me

975
01:09:35,679 --> 01:09:38,798
you wanted to see me

976
01:09:37,039 --> 01:09:41,278
so i figured our buyer friend was in to

977
01:09:38,798 --> 01:09:43,039
see you no buyers been here

978
01:09:41,279 --> 01:09:46,319
i figured as much when a couple of men

979
01:09:43,039 --> 01:09:48,880
tried to ambush me on the way over

980
01:09:46,319 --> 01:09:51,120
don't worry they're dead ambushed i

981
01:09:48,880 --> 01:09:53,679
wonder how they knew about our plan

982
01:09:51,119 --> 01:09:55,760
somebody talked

983
01:09:53,679 --> 01:09:57,520
that means exactly

984
01:09:55,760 --> 01:09:59,920
that someone of our own group is a spy

985
01:09:57,520 --> 01:10:02,640
for the black raiders spy

986
01:09:59,920 --> 01:10:04,079
that seems impossible but it isn't

987
01:10:02,640 --> 01:10:06,239
and we've got to find out who that

988
01:10:04,079 --> 01:10:08,479
someone is

989
01:10:06,238 --> 01:10:11,039
how about clay oh no

990
01:10:08,479 --> 01:10:12,158
the raider shot his son

991
01:10:11,039 --> 01:10:14,880
hawks

992
01:10:12,158 --> 01:10:16,879
no he'd have no reason he's pretty well

993
01:10:14,880 --> 01:10:19,199
fixed although he is kind of wild and a

994
01:10:16,880 --> 01:10:22,000
heavy drinker has he been raided

995
01:10:19,198 --> 01:10:23,678
they burned a hay racker here

996
01:10:22,000 --> 01:10:25,920
not much of a loss considering what the

997
01:10:23,679 --> 01:10:27,920
others have lost

998
01:10:25,920 --> 01:10:30,079
just how well fixed is he

999
01:10:27,920 --> 01:10:33,600
i don't know some distant cousin of his

1000
01:10:30,079 --> 01:10:35,920
left him some money about a year ago

1001
01:10:33,600 --> 01:10:38,960
when did the raids first start

1002
01:10:35,920 --> 01:10:40,158
about a year ago you don't think i might

1003
01:10:38,960 --> 01:10:41,600
think anything

1004
01:10:40,158 --> 01:10:43,198
at least enough to go over to his place

1005
01:10:41,600 --> 01:10:44,880
and ask him a few questions he's not

1006
01:10:43,198 --> 01:10:46,639
there he went to town after the meeting

1007
01:10:44,880 --> 01:10:50,239
he hasn't passed going back yet and i'll

1008
01:10:46,640 --> 01:10:50,239
see him in town see you later

1009
01:10:51,039 --> 01:10:55,719
he hangs out a lot at the paradise bar

1010
01:10:59,039 --> 01:11:02,640
go ahead

1011
01:11:00,158 --> 01:11:02,639
thanks

1012
01:11:03,359 --> 01:11:07,039
well i guess howard's done for by now

1013
01:11:09,198 --> 01:11:14,158
howard just rode into town what how did

1014
01:11:11,760 --> 01:11:15,440
he get by my men never mind speculating

1015
01:11:14,158 --> 01:11:16,559
about that now you'd better get out

1016
01:11:15,439 --> 01:11:19,199
there and find out what he's doing in

1017
01:11:16,560 --> 01:11:22,380
town

1018
01:11:19,199 --> 01:11:22,380
[Music]

1019
01:11:25,800 --> 01:11:37,449
[Music]

1020
01:11:38,800 --> 01:12:06,399
oh

1021
01:11:40,380 --> 01:12:06,399
[Music]

1022
01:12:12,800 --> 01:12:18,159
hello hawks

1023
01:12:14,880 --> 01:12:20,560
you seem surprised to see me why

1024
01:12:18,158 --> 01:12:22,799
i heard you'd been killed

1025
01:12:20,560 --> 01:12:24,480
is that so

1026
01:12:22,800 --> 01:12:26,800
i thought only the black raiders would

1027
01:12:24,479 --> 01:12:28,559
hear that

1028
01:12:26,800 --> 01:12:30,800
i don't know what you mean i mean you're

1029
01:12:28,560 --> 01:12:32,880
a spy for the black raiders

1030
01:12:30,800 --> 01:12:34,320
no you're wrong you told my plans to

1031
01:12:32,880 --> 01:12:36,640
trap the buyer

1032
01:12:34,319 --> 01:12:38,158
not me don't lie

1033
01:12:36,640 --> 01:12:39,520
you want to save your neck you'd better

1034
01:12:38,158 --> 01:12:41,599
talk who's the leader of the black

1035
01:12:39,520 --> 01:12:45,080
raiders

1036
01:12:41,600 --> 01:12:45,079
talk i say

1037
01:12:45,869 --> 01:13:22,849
[Music]

1038
01:13:24,649 --> 01:13:39,439
[Applause]

1039
01:13:25,520 --> 01:13:40,920
[Music]

1040
01:13:39,439 --> 01:13:48,668
huh

1041
01:13:40,920 --> 01:13:48,668
[Music]

1042
01:13:51,460 --> 01:13:58,208
[Music]

1043
01:14:04,329 --> 01:14:17,229
[Music]

1044
01:14:18,960 --> 01:14:21,960
so

1045
01:14:29,100 --> 01:14:33,490
[Music]

1046
01:14:31,899 --> 01:14:49,498
[Applause]

1047
01:14:33,489 --> 01:14:49,498
[Music]

1048
01:14:57,039 --> 01:15:01,279
how does it look anne not bad mostly

1049
01:14:59,439 --> 01:15:02,799
shock but just the same i think you'd

1050
01:15:01,279 --> 01:15:04,559
better get a doctor

1051
01:15:02,800 --> 01:15:05,920
no as long as it's not serious i'd

1052
01:15:04,560 --> 01:15:07,520
rather not

1053
01:15:05,920 --> 01:15:08,960
might tip lawton off to where we have

1054
01:15:07,520 --> 01:15:11,679
hawks hidden

1055
01:15:08,960 --> 01:15:13,679
we can't take that chance i don't get it

1056
01:15:11,679 --> 01:15:16,239
what good can we do playing nurse made a

1057
01:15:13,679 --> 01:15:18,319
double crossing spy plenty

1058
01:15:16,238 --> 01:15:20,079
as soon as he comes to

1059
01:15:18,319 --> 01:15:21,519
we'll try to make him talk and tell us

1060
01:15:20,079 --> 01:15:23,279
who and what's behind this rotten

1061
01:15:21,520 --> 01:15:25,120
business of terrorizing the farmers and

1062
01:15:23,279 --> 01:15:27,039
destroying their property that may be

1063
01:15:25,119 --> 01:15:28,800
true but supposing he doesn't pull

1064
01:15:27,039 --> 01:15:31,198
through you might have a little trouble

1065
01:15:28,800 --> 01:15:32,320
tongue yourself out of a murder charge

1066
01:15:31,198 --> 01:15:34,479
you know you can't afford an

1067
01:15:32,319 --> 01:15:36,158
investigation of any kind

1068
01:15:34,479 --> 01:15:38,799
someone might accidentally discover that

1069
01:15:36,158 --> 01:15:41,599
jc howard is really jesse james that's

1070
01:15:38,800 --> 01:15:43,119
right but hawks isn't hurt that bad

1071
01:15:41,600 --> 01:15:45,199
and all we have to do is take care of

1072
01:15:43,119 --> 01:15:47,039
him till he's able to talk

1073
01:15:45,198 --> 01:15:48,399
in the meantime you stay here while i go

1074
01:15:47,039 --> 01:15:50,399
into town and get some medicine

1075
01:15:48,399 --> 01:15:51,839
advantages i'll get some brandy while

1076
01:15:50,399 --> 01:15:53,679
you're there it'll help build up his

1077
01:15:51,840 --> 01:15:55,600
strength once it comes around it's a

1078
01:15:53,679 --> 01:15:57,569
good idea i'll ride along and pick up

1079
01:15:55,600 --> 01:16:00,320
some groceries

1080
01:15:57,569 --> 01:16:04,079
[Music]

1081
01:16:00,319 --> 01:16:04,079
uh don't you think he'll be lonesome

1082
01:16:04,319 --> 01:16:10,929
it'll do him good

1083
01:16:07,810 --> 01:16:10,929
[Music]

1084
01:16:12,640 --> 01:16:15,360
and i suppose the next thing you're

1085
01:16:13,920 --> 01:16:16,880
going to tell me is that hawks just got

1086
01:16:15,359 --> 01:16:18,158
up and walked out with a knife sticking

1087
01:16:16,880 --> 01:16:20,000
in him

1088
01:16:18,158 --> 01:16:20,719
maybe howard carried him out i don't

1089
01:16:20,000 --> 01:16:22,560
know

1090
01:16:20,719 --> 01:16:24,399
anyway i can't figure out what he wanted

1091
01:16:22,560 --> 01:16:26,560
with a corpse that's what i'm trying to

1092
01:16:24,399 --> 01:16:27,599
make you understand hawks isn't dead

1093
01:16:26,560 --> 01:16:29,440
howard wouldn't have touched him with a

1094
01:16:27,600 --> 01:16:31,039
10-foot pole if he was and he'll hold

1095
01:16:29,439 --> 01:16:33,279
him until he can make him talk

1096
01:16:31,039 --> 01:16:35,359
so what hawks doesn't know there's oil

1097
01:16:33,279 --> 01:16:36,880
under that land he knows i'm the payoff

1098
01:16:35,359 --> 01:16:39,279
man behind the raids doesn't he isn't

1099
01:16:36,880 --> 01:16:41,920
that enough to blast us wide open

1100
01:16:39,279 --> 01:16:45,920
i could shut him up for good you know

1101
01:16:41,920 --> 01:16:45,920
yes but you've got to find him first

1102
01:16:46,800 --> 01:16:50,800
well we could trail howard and his buddy

1103
01:16:49,039 --> 01:16:52,719
that might lead us to worries no no

1104
01:16:50,800 --> 01:16:56,520
they're too smart for that

1105
01:16:52,719 --> 01:16:56,520
gotta find a better way

1106
01:17:02,560 --> 01:17:04,800
oh

1107
01:17:05,279 --> 01:17:08,559
the bolton girl

1108
01:17:07,039 --> 01:17:11,279
that's it

1109
01:17:08,560 --> 01:17:11,280
lot and come here

1110
01:17:14,399 --> 01:17:17,439
i'll wait for you in front of the

1111
01:17:15,600 --> 01:17:19,050
general store after i'm through shopping

1112
01:17:17,439 --> 01:17:20,960
right

1113
01:17:19,050 --> 01:17:22,880
[Music]

1114
01:17:20,960 --> 01:17:24,480
she must know where hawks is and she's

1115
01:17:22,880 --> 01:17:26,239
going to tell you where

1116
01:17:24,479 --> 01:17:28,559
now here's what i want you to do put a

1117
01:17:26,238 --> 01:17:30,479
man on howard to keep him out of the way

1118
01:17:28,560 --> 01:17:31,840
and i'll get a hold of rose and she'll

1119
01:17:30,479 --> 01:17:34,718
put on an act

1120
01:17:31,840 --> 01:17:34,719
that'll convince him

1121
01:17:39,679 --> 01:17:45,600
small bottle of brandy

1122
01:17:42,319 --> 01:17:48,960
that's terrible stuff brandy

1123
01:17:45,600 --> 01:17:51,600
why don't you have a mayor's drink

1124
01:17:48,960 --> 01:17:54,800
well i'll be horse swaggle and pickle

1125
01:17:51,600 --> 01:17:56,400
and brine of any old pal rusty post must

1126
01:17:54,800 --> 01:17:59,760
be some mistake bud

1127
01:17:56,399 --> 01:18:02,960
my name's howard that's what i said

1128
01:17:59,760 --> 01:18:02,960
bestie foster

1129
01:18:03,119 --> 01:18:07,679
that small world this is

1130
01:18:05,520 --> 01:18:10,800
how about a drink

1131
01:18:07,679 --> 01:18:13,440

1153
01:20:24,800 --> 01:20:28,719
did she buy any rice

1154
01:20:26,399 --> 01:20:30,719
a 10 pound sack

1155
01:20:28,719 --> 01:20:32,619
why is there anything wrong

1156
01:20:30,719 --> 01:21:06,989
plenty

1157
01:20:32,619 --> 01:21:06,989
[Music]

1158
01:21:09,840 --> 01:21:15,760
the last time where's hops hidden

1159
01:21:12,560 --> 01:21:17,600

1160
01:21:15,760 --> 01:21:19,840

1162
01:21:19,840 --> 01:21:22,800

1163
01:21:21,600 --> 01:21:24,880
out

1164
01:21:22,800 --> 01:21:28,679

1165
01:21:24,880 --> 01:21:28,679
you don't know huh

1166
01:21:29,930 --> 01:21:34,569
[Music]

1167

[Music]

1168
01:21:40,719 --> 01:21:43,470

1169
01:21:42,238 --> 01:21:54,288
remember

1170
01:21:43,470 --> 01:21:54,289
[Music]

1171
01:21:58,079 --> 01:22:01,989
[Music]

1172
01:21:59,520 --> 01:22:03,280
you remember now

1173
01:22:01,989 --> 01:22:05,039
[Music]

1174
01:22:03,279 --> 01:22:06,920
no

1175
01:22:05,039 --> 01:22:14,920
give me a hand here

1176
01:22:06,920 --> 01:22:14,920
[Music]

1177
01:22:29,119 --> 01:22:32,238
[Applause]

1178
01:22:33,279 --> 01:22:38,279
will you tell me now where hawks is

1179
01:22:34,960 --> 01:22:38,279
being held

1180
01:22:40,670 --> 01:22:57,159
[Music]

1181
01:22:58,000 --> 01:23:17,998
it's your last chance to talk

1182
01:23:01,479 --> 01:23:17,998
[Music]

1183
01:23:18,158 --> 01:23:21,638
shut that off

1184
01:23:23,840 --> 01:23:28,960
drop those guns

1185
01:23:26,238 --> 01:23:28,959
one at a time

1186
01:23:32,639 --> 01:23:35,639
you

1187
01:23:38,319 --> 01:23:41,719
open that door

1188
01:23:48,060 --> 01:24:03,699
[Music]

1189
01:24:05,939 --> 01:25:02,938
[Music]

[Music]

1191
01:25:30,659 --> 01:25:33,720
[Music]

1192
01:25:35,520 --> 01:25:40,000
you all right anne

1193
01:25:37,600 --> 01:25:41,520
yes

1194
01:25:40,000 --> 01:25:43,439
if howard hadn't showed up maybe the

1195
01:25:41,520 --> 01:25:45,840
girl would have told us where hawks is i

1196
01:25:43,439 --> 01:25:45,839
don't know

1197
01:25:46,639 --> 01:25:51,600
i know there's no use trying that again

1198
01:25:49,359 --> 01:25:53,039
no but we've got to locate hawks he

1199
01:25:51,600 --> 01:25:54,960
doesn't know there's oil under peaceful

1200
01:25:53,039 --> 01:25:56,880
valley but he does know i organized the

1201
01:25:54,960 --> 01:25:58,480
raids against the farmers so i could buy

1202
01:25:56,880 --> 01:26:00,239
up their lands and i don't want him

1203
01:25:58,479 --> 01:26:02,638
telling that to howard maybe he's

1204
01:26:00,238 --> 01:26:04,399
already told him oh i doubt it as soon

1205
01:26:02,639 --> 01:26:06,639
as howard finds that out we're all done

1206
01:26:04,399 --> 01:26:08,479
a fortune and oil gone

1207
01:26:06,639 --> 01:26:11,520
lawton you've got to find hawks and take

1208
01:26:08,479 --> 01:26:13,359
care of him before he tells yeah

1209
01:26:11,520 --> 01:26:15,040
well it's no sense trailing howard

1210
01:26:13,359 --> 01:26:17,599
orry's buddy they're pretty smart

1211
01:26:15,039 --> 01:26:19,039
umbries if you ask me maybe so but if

1212
01:26:17,600 --> 01:26:20,880
they had something important on their

1213
01:26:19,039 --> 01:26:21,679
minds and were forced to go where hawks

1214
01:26:20,880 --> 01:26:23,520
is

1215
01:26:21,679 --> 01:26:25,600
they might not be so careful

1216
01:26:23,520 --> 01:26:27,280
that part makes sense

1217
01:26:25,600 --> 01:26:29,199
all right here's the rest of it

1218
01:26:27,279 --> 01:26:31,359
have doyle the barkeep at the paradise

1219
01:26:29,198 --> 01:26:33,359
saloon swear out a warrant for hawks get

1220
01:26:31,359 --> 01:26:37,399
a court order calling for howard and

1221
01:26:33,359 --> 01:26:37,399
long to deliver him to the sheriff

1222
01:26:37,679 --> 01:26:43,319
that'll make him head out of town fast

1223
01:26:39,198 --> 01:26:43,319
and give you a chance to trail him

1224
01:26:46,550 --> 01:26:55,100
[Music]

1225
01:26:51,198 --> 01:27:01,049
plan worked there goes steve long

1226
01:26:55,100 --> 01:27:01,050
[Music]

1227
01:27:05,198 --> 01:27:08,879
man

1228
01:27:06,238 --> 01:27:11,198
you might as well start talking hawks

1229
01:27:08,880 --> 01:27:13,520
you will stay here till you do

1230
01:27:11,198 --> 01:27:15,039
i ain't saying i know anything

1231
01:27:13,520 --> 01:27:17,040
but you'd never get it out of me if it

1232
01:27:15,039 --> 01:27:20,319
did it's too bad

1233
01:27:17,039 --> 01:27:20,319
just came to the sheriff's office

1234
01:27:20,399 --> 01:27:22,879
what's up

1235
01:27:23,899 --> 01:27:29,039
[Music]

1236
01:27:25,359 --> 01:27:32,719
he wants heart what does he want me for

1237
01:27:29,039 --> 01:27:34,479
he uh knows he happened yep dog talked

1238
01:27:32,719 --> 01:27:36,000
he didn't the sheriff's got a court

1239
01:27:34,479 --> 01:27:38,000
order demanding that we bring hawks in

1240
01:27:36,000 --> 01:27:40,079
so he'd be held to answer to the charges

1241
01:27:38,000 --> 01:27:42,399
what charges

1242
01:27:40,079 --> 01:27:44,399
i ain't done nothing well i

1243
01:27:42,399 --> 01:27:47,039
i guess we'll have to turn him in

1244
01:27:44,399 --> 01:27:48,238
can he travel he can make it all right

1245
01:27:47,039 --> 01:27:50,000
wait a minute

1246
01:27:48,238 --> 01:27:53,359
i'm a sick man

1247
01:27:50,000 --> 01:27:53,359
what does the sheriff want me for

1248
01:27:56,960 --> 01:28:02,079
i don't know but he says you're guilty

1249
01:27:58,479 --> 01:28:04,559
of whatever it is i swear i ain't

1250
01:28:02,079 --> 01:28:06,639
don't take me in we've got to it's a

1251
01:28:04,560 --> 01:28:08,719
court order but we might put in a good

1252
01:28:06,639 --> 01:28:11,600
word for you

1253
01:28:08,719 --> 01:28:13,119
would you that'd help a lot

1254
01:28:11,600 --> 01:28:15,840
thanks who's the leader of the black

1255
01:28:13,119 --> 01:28:15,840
readers

1256
01:28:16,319 --> 01:28:19,759
if i tell you will you help me we'll do

1257
01:28:18,158 --> 01:28:22,079
all we can

1258
01:28:19,760 --> 01:28:24,130
who's in the back of the raids

1259
01:28:22,079 --> 01:28:28,238
jim

[Music]

1261
01:28:35,510 --> 01:29:02,590
[Music]

1262
01:29:02,639 --> 01:29:08,159
i guess lawton made a run for it

1263
01:29:04,960 --> 01:29:11,840
doesn't look like he'll ever talk again

1264
01:29:08,158 --> 01:29:11,839
we better go tell the sheriff

1265
01:29:14,639 --> 01:29:18,400
and before hawks could say any more than

1266
01:29:16,639 --> 01:29:20,000
jim he was shot

1267
01:29:18,399 --> 01:29:22,238
that's not much help

1268
01:29:20,000 --> 01:29:23,520
seems like half a man in peso valley are

1269
01:29:22,238 --> 01:29:25,039
named jim

1270
01:29:23,520 --> 01:29:26,800
it's a tough break

1271
01:29:25,039 --> 01:29:29,359
yes and we'll go on having him as long

1272
01:29:26,800 --> 01:29:30,880
as lawton's out and around

1273
01:29:29,359 --> 01:29:34,079
sheriff i'd like to swear out a warrant

1274
01:29:30,880 --> 01:29:37,239
charging him with hawks's murder

1275
01:29:34,079 --> 01:29:37,238
all right

1276
01:29:42,000 --> 01:29:45,119
laughing will be a tough one to locate

1277
01:29:43,840 --> 01:29:47,600
though

1278
01:29:45,119 --> 01:29:47,599
well uh

1279
01:29:47,920 --> 01:29:50,639
i don't mean to tell your business

1280
01:29:49,279 --> 01:29:52,399
sheriff

1281
01:29:50,639 --> 01:29:54,159
but if it were my job i'd start by

1282
01:29:52,399 --> 01:29:56,559
offering a thousand dollars reward for

1283
01:29:54,158 --> 01:30:00,319
information leading to his arrest

1284
01:29:56,560 --> 01:30:02,239
fair enough we'll post the reward and uh

1285
01:30:00,319 --> 01:30:03,840
being as it's your idea

1286
01:30:02,238 --> 01:30:04,799
you and steve can take over for the

1287
01:30:03,840 --> 01:30:06,719
county

1288
01:30:04,800 --> 01:30:07,920
i know sheriff but i uh raise your right

1289
01:30:06,719 --> 01:30:09,760

1290
01:30:07,920 --> 01:30:11,840
you solemnly swear to uphold the laws of

1291
01:30:09,760 --> 01:30:14,079
the united states in this county

1292
01:30:11,840 --> 01:30:16,480

1293
01:30:14,079 --> 01:30:17,279

here

1295
01:30:17,279 --> 01:30:20,840
make up your poster

1296
01:30:30,960 --> 01:30:34,239
what's so funny

1297
01:30:32,560 --> 01:30:35,280
i wonder what the folks in missouri

1298
01:30:34,238 --> 01:30:38,799
would say

1299
01:30:35,279 --> 01:30:40,639
jesse james special deputy

1300
01:30:38,800 --> 01:30:43,119

1301
01:30:40,639 --> 01:30:43,119

01:30:47,439 --> 01:30:51,759
here's your badges

1303
01:30:50,319 --> 01:30:55,639

1304
01:30:51,760 --> 01:30:55,639
let's see what you've got there

[Music]

1306
01:31:16,719 --> 01:31:22,198

1311
01:31:43,920 --> 01:31:46,560
tonight

1312
01:31:45,039 --> 01:31:48,079
and i will tell you where you can get

1313
01:31:46,560 --> 01:31:50,960
locked

1314
01:31:48,079 --> 01:31:53,039
be sure you come alone who's it from it

1315
01:31:50,960 --> 01:31:54,480
is inside maybe it was one of lawton's

1316
01:31:53,039 --> 01:31:55,760
black raiders looking to pick up a

1317
01:31:54,479 --> 01:31:59,039
thousand dollars without taking any

1318
01:31:55,760 --> 01:32:00,880
chances i don't know about that

1319
01:31:59,039 --> 01:32:02,719
it don't seem to me that a raider would

1320
01:32:00,880 --> 01:32:04,560
turn lawton in

1321
01:32:02,719 --> 01:32:06,239
well they must have been making plenty

1322
01:32:04,560 --> 01:32:08,000
and if laughing goes they'll be out much

1323
01:32:06,238 --> 01:32:11,039
more than a thousand dollars

1324
01:32:08,000 --> 01:32:12,639
i wonder why that rider left so fast

1325
01:32:11,039 --> 01:32:15,039
jesse it's a trap

1326
01:32:12,639 --> 01:32:16,639
kind of figured that way myself

1327
01:32:15,039 --> 01:32:18,319
never did think we'd get an honest bid

1328
01:32:16,639 --> 01:32:20,800
for that reward

1329
01:32:18,319 --> 01:32:22,079
well we'll soon know let's go jesse you

1330
01:32:20,800 --> 01:32:23,440
better take another look at that note

1331
01:32:22,079 --> 01:32:24,840
steve

1332
01:32:23,439 --> 01:32:27,839
it says for me to come

1333
01:32:24,840 --> 01:32:29,920
alone no you scaring off whoever sent it

1334
01:32:27,840 --> 01:32:32,079
but why take chances and you said

1335
01:32:29,920 --> 01:32:35,359
yourself it was probably a trap that's

1336
01:32:32,079 --> 01:32:39,559
right anne and i aim to trap the trapper

1337
01:32:35,359 --> 01:32:39,559
now as soon as it gets dark tonight

1338
01:33:00,539 --> 01:33:03,640
[Music]

1339
01:33:07,119 --> 01:33:11,279
hang on this rope while i rig up the

1340
01:33:08,719 --> 01:33:13,600
counter ballots

1341
01:33:11,279 --> 01:33:15,279
what's the counterbalance for that's to

1342
01:33:13,600 --> 01:33:17,120
make the gun fire in case the rope

1343
01:33:15,279 --> 01:33:20,840
breaks so that the gun will go off with

1344
01:33:17,119 --> 01:33:20,840
a pull from either direction

1345
01:33:34,399 --> 01:33:37,839
okay try it

1346
01:33:39,449 --> 01:33:42,809
[Music]

1347
01:33:43,840 --> 01:33:48,159
works like a charm

1348
01:33:45,920 --> 01:33:49,840
careful now don't trip over that rope

1349
01:33:48,158 --> 01:33:51,519
after i get this loaded we'll all be

1350
01:33:49,840 --> 01:33:54,510
blown to bits that's a little surprise

1351
01:33:51,520 --> 01:33:58,560
we're saving for mr howard

1352
01:33:54,510 --> 01:33:58,560
[Music]

1353
01:33:59,439 --> 01:34:04,759
okay all set we've got to get out the

1354
01:34:01,520 --> 01:34:04,760
back way

1355
01:34:05,600 --> 01:34:09,199
wait a minute i forgot the lantern

1356
01:34:07,920 --> 01:34:12,158
hold it

1357
01:34:09,198 --> 01:34:12,158
drop those guns

1358
01:34:14,000 --> 01:34:18,649
i'll get moving

1359
01:34:15,579 --> 01:34:18,649
[Music]

1360
01:34:30,719 --> 01:34:36,000
keep going okay howard you win

1361
01:34:34,158 --> 01:34:37,839
but don't make us go through the door

1362
01:34:36,000 --> 01:34:40,430
that gun goes off we'll all be blown to

1363
01:34:37,840 --> 01:34:45,699
bits

1364
01:34:40,430 --> 01:34:45,699
[Music]

1365
01:34:49,439 --> 01:35:07,609
[Music]

1366
01:35:11,680 --> 01:35:14,610
[Music]

1367
01:35:14,069 --> 01:35:33,840
[Applause]

1368
01:35:14,609 --> 01:35:36,839
[Music]

1369
01:35:33,840 --> 01:35:36,840
so

1370
01:35:42,069 --> 01:36:02,090
[Music]

1371
01:36:09,679 --> 01:36:13,920
the sheriff wants to talk to you lawton

1372
01:36:12,319 --> 01:36:17,319
but if you try anything you won't live

1373
01:36:13,920 --> 01:36:17,319
to get there

1374
01:36:26,880 --> 01:36:31,279
well look not only philly at howard in

1375
01:36:28,880 --> 01:36:33,118
his trap he got himself captured

1376
01:36:31,279 --> 01:36:34,079
what are you sure of course i'm sure i

1377
01:36:33,118 --> 01:36:35,679
just saw howard take him in the

1378
01:36:34,079 --> 01:36:36,880
sheriff's office

1379
01:36:35,679 --> 01:36:38,319
you don't think he'll talk to you

1380
01:36:36,880 --> 01:36:39,679
anybody else talk if the pressure's

1381
01:36:38,319 --> 01:36:42,639
strong enough

1382
01:36:39,679 --> 01:36:44,639
we've got to make dead sure he doesn't

1383
01:36:42,639 --> 01:36:47,199
get in touch with the men raiders never

1384
01:36:44,639 --> 01:36:49,118
did learn the name of their leader

1385
01:36:47,198 --> 01:36:50,960
i think we can persuade lawton to give

1386
01:36:49,118 --> 01:36:52,799
us that bit of information

1387
01:36:50,960 --> 01:36:55,118
i'll tell you nothing because if he

1388
01:36:52,800 --> 01:36:57,440
turns states evidence he might get off

1389
01:36:55,118 --> 01:36:59,679
with a long stretch in the pen

1390
01:36:57,439 --> 01:37:03,678
but if he doesn't

1391
01:36:59,679 --> 01:37:03,679
you'll get a long stretch in the neck

1392
01:37:04,158 --> 01:37:07,359
i'll give you one minute to think it

1393
01:37:06,079 --> 01:37:11,158
over

1394
01:37:07,359 --> 01:37:11,158
don't waste it

1395
01:37:25,198 --> 01:37:32,359
time's up

1396
01:37:27,920 --> 01:37:32,359
talk now or hang

1397
01:37:39,679 --> 01:37:43,359
what protection do i get from the gang

1398
01:37:41,279 --> 01:37:48,118
if i squeal you'll be locked up where

1399
01:37:43,359 --> 01:37:48,118
jesse james himself can't get at you

1400
01:37:49,329 --> 01:38:00,769
[Applause]

1401
01:37:50,710 --> 01:38:04,319
[Music]

1402
01:38:00,770 --> 01:38:06,400
[Applause]

1403
01:38:04,319 --> 01:38:08,559
it's just a smoke bomb

1404
01:38:06,399 --> 01:38:12,589
the water was gone

1405
01:38:08,560 --> 01:38:22,320
he must have gone out the back window

1406
01:38:12,590 --> 01:38:25,319
[Music]

1407
01:38:22,319 --> 01:38:25,319
so

1408
01:38:27,000 --> 01:38:42,550
[Music]

1409
01:38:39,770 --> 01:38:53,840
[Applause]

1410
01:38:42,550 --> 01:38:56,958
[Music]

1411
01:38:53,840 --> 01:38:56,958
[Applause]

1412
01:38:57,869 --> 01:39:14,880
[Music]

1413
01:39:13,770 --> 01:39:28,979
[Applause]

1414
01:39:14,880 --> 01:39:28,979
[Music]

1415
01:39:44,640 --> 01:40:03,970
[Music]

1416
01:40:07,689 --> 01:40:12,000
[Music]

1417
01:40:08,869 --> 01:40:12,000
[Applause]

1418
01:40:19,279 --> 01:40:30,948
[Music]

1419
01:40:33,750 --> 01:40:43,020
[Music]

1420
01:40:48,159 --> 01:41:12,269
[Music]

1421
01:41:15,449 --> 01:41:22,309
[Music]

1422
01:41:22,319 --> 01:41:25,359
a deposit of natural gas under high

1423
01:41:24,238 --> 01:41:26,879
pressure

1424
01:41:25,359 --> 01:41:30,639
that's a mighty good indication that

1425
01:41:26,880 --> 01:41:33,199
there's oil under this whole valley oil

1426
01:41:30,639 --> 01:41:35,679
well and that means we'll all be rich

1427
01:41:33,198 --> 01:41:37,678
i can't guarantee that not until we get

1428
01:41:35,679 --> 01:41:39,440
a geologist on the job

1429
01:41:37,679 --> 01:41:42,000
but it certainly explains what the black

1430
01:41:39,439 --> 01:41:43,678
raiders are after it sure does

1431
01:41:42,000 --> 01:41:45,600
well if they could drive the farmers off

1432
01:41:43,679 --> 01:41:48,319
the land and buying cheap they'd clean

1433
01:41:45,600 --> 01:41:48,320
up millions

1434
01:41:48,800 --> 01:41:54,800
jesse james and his heyday was a fighter

1435
01:41:51,039 --> 01:41:54,800
compared to the man behind these raiders

1436
01:41:56,560 --> 01:42:02,000
and jesse james as an honest citizen is

1437
01:41:58,880 --> 01:42:03,359
going to beat them at their own game

1438
01:42:02,000 --> 01:42:05,679
oil boom

1439
01:42:03,359 --> 01:42:07,279
professor wall another geologist certain

1440
01:42:05,679 --> 01:42:08,239
that a lake of oil is under peaceful

1441
01:42:07,279 --> 01:42:10,079
valley

1442
01:42:08,238 --> 01:42:11,919
jc howard calls median and farmers to

1443
01:42:10,079 --> 01:42:13,760
hear wall and report

1444
01:42:11,920 --> 01:42:17,359
how you ever let howard that gas cave is

1445
01:42:13,760 --> 01:42:17,360
beyond me oh shut up

1446
01:42:22,000 --> 01:42:27,800
have you seen this

1447
01:42:24,800 --> 01:42:27,800
certainly

1448
01:42:31,920 --> 01:42:35,840
better let me and the boys break up that

1449
01:42:33,520 --> 01:42:37,280
meeting boss oh no i wanted to take

1450
01:42:35,840 --> 01:42:39,440
place but if they raise the money to

1451
01:42:37,279 --> 01:42:41,279
drill loss means they won't raise it oh

1452
01:42:39,439 --> 01:42:43,619
the contrary i offered to lend howard

1453
01:42:41,279 --> 01:42:51,519
the money to drill the wells

1454
01:42:43,619 --> 01:42:54,559
[Laughter]

1455
01:42:51,520 --> 01:42:58,110
what are you laughing at

1456
01:42:54,560 --> 01:43:01,600
i don't know neither does mr howard

1457
01:42:58,109 --> 01:43:03,359
[Laughter]

1458
01:43:01,600 --> 01:43:04,880
not wanting to raise your hopes too high

1459
01:43:03,359 --> 01:43:07,039
on my guesses

1460
01:43:04,880 --> 01:43:08,719
i had mr walden the geologist make a

1461
01:43:07,039 --> 01:43:10,800
complete survey

1462
01:43:08,719 --> 01:43:12,158
he's now ready to report to you

1463
01:43:10,800 --> 01:43:14,239
there's not much i can add to what

1464
01:43:12,158 --> 01:43:15,920
howard's already told you his guesses

1465
01:43:14,238 --> 01:43:18,238
were pretty good

1466
01:43:15,920 --> 01:43:20,000
my survey indicates a large pool of

1467
01:43:18,238 --> 01:43:21,919
crude oil under a considerable portion

1468
01:43:20,000 --> 01:43:24,800
of peaceful valley

1469
01:43:21,920 --> 01:43:26,800
what do you suggest we do next well i'd

1470
01:43:24,800 --> 01:43:28,560
recommend you pool your resources and

1471
01:43:26,800 --> 01:43:30,400
put down a test well

1472
01:43:28,560 --> 01:43:32,239
what's more i'd i'd suggest you sink it

1473
01:43:30,399 --> 01:43:34,319
right here on wilkey's ranch now you're

1474
01:43:32,238 --> 01:43:37,359
talking to poor folks mister

1475
01:43:34,319 --> 01:43:40,639
what'll it cost to sink this test well

1476
01:43:37,359 --> 01:43:42,799
oh i'd say between 35 and 40 thousand

1477
01:43:40,639 --> 01:43:45,118
dollars 40 000

1478
01:43:42,800 --> 01:43:47,840
why you couldn't raise 5 000 in this

1479
01:43:45,118 --> 01:43:49,599
bunch with a curry call

1480
01:43:47,840 --> 01:43:51,679
just a minute

1481
01:43:49,600 --> 01:43:53,760
i figured as much and had a talk with mr

1482
01:43:51,679 --> 01:43:55,440
clark whom you all know

1483
01:43:53,760 --> 01:43:57,119
a clock represents some eastern

1484
01:43:55,439 --> 01:43:59,678
capitalists and says he'll raise the

1485
01:43:57,118 --> 01:44:02,479
money for us those eastern fellows don't

1486
01:43:59,679 --> 01:44:03,840
do nothing for nothing what's the catch

1487
01:44:02,479 --> 01:44:05,519
uh this appears to be a straight

1488
01:44:03,840 --> 01:44:07,039
business deal

1489
01:44:05,520 --> 01:44:08,719
all they ask is the legal rate of

1490
01:44:07,039 --> 01:44:11,198
interest on their money it'll be

1491
01:44:08,719 --> 01:44:12,719
necessary for you to mortgage your farms

1492
01:44:11,198 --> 01:44:15,039
and give one of your number a power of

1493
01:44:12,719 --> 01:44:17,359
attorney to sign a 90-day note

1494
01:44:15,039 --> 01:44:19,359
90 days give us enough time

1495
01:44:17,359 --> 01:44:22,399
plenty you should bring in your well

1496
01:44:19,359 --> 01:44:22,399
with time despair

1497
01:44:23,840 --> 01:44:28,880
then i say that jc howard be appointed

1498
01:44:26,079 --> 01:44:32,238
to represent us sign our note

1499
01:44:28,880 --> 01:44:34,560
all in favor raise your right hand

1500
01:44:32,238 --> 01:44:38,000
thanks min miss bolton has the necessary

1501
01:44:34,560 --> 01:44:38,000
documents ready for your signature

1502
01:44:40,719 --> 01:44:45,760
hero powers of attorney give me

1503
01:44:42,319 --> 01:44:45,759
authority to act for these men

1504
01:44:47,198 --> 01:44:50,319
yes these seem to be an order

1505
01:44:50,560 --> 01:44:54,080
these are the blanket mortgage in the

1506
01:44:51,760 --> 01:44:54,079
note

1507
01:44:56,000 --> 01:44:59,279
before you sign those i want your

1508
01:44:57,920 --> 01:45:00,800
assurance that the farmers understand

1509
01:44:59,279 --> 01:45:01,679
the money must be paid on the day it's

1510
01:45:00,800 --> 01:45:02,719
due

1511
01:45:01,679 --> 01:45:04,560
i don't think i can get them an

1512
01:45:02,719 --> 01:45:06,480
extension that's understood

1513
01:45:04,560 --> 01:45:08,560
our geologist assures us we'll have the

1514
01:45:06,479 --> 01:45:11,559
well and easily before the deadline very

1515
01:45:08,560 --> 01:45:11,560
good

1516
01:45:16,238 --> 01:45:19,198
you better count this

1517
01:45:23,600 --> 01:45:27,039
when do you expect to start operations

1518
01:45:25,600 --> 01:45:28,560
steve long and i are taking the night

1519
01:45:27,039 --> 01:45:31,039
boat to memphis to buy the drill and

1520
01:45:28,560 --> 01:45:34,000
rigging supplies we'll see you when we

1521
01:45:31,039 --> 01:45:34,000
get back all right

1522
01:45:35,279 --> 01:45:39,118
good luck

1523
01:45:36,800 --> 01:45:39,119
thanks

1524
01:45:41,679 --> 01:45:45,520
i guess you know what you're doing

1525
01:45:43,600 --> 01:45:46,960
you're taking an awful chance

1526
01:45:45,520 --> 01:45:49,520
if they think that well they sink you

1527
01:45:46,960 --> 01:45:51,359
and the rest of us with it take it easy

1528
01:45:49,520 --> 01:45:54,000
howard and his friend steve won't be the

1529
01:45:51,359 --> 01:45:58,118
only ones on that boat

1530
01:45:54,000 --> 01:45:58,118
we might do a little thinking ourselves

1531
01:46:03,279 --> 01:46:06,479
well it looks as though for once we've

1532
01:46:04,800 --> 01:46:08,719
made a move without the raiders outfit

1533
01:46:06,479 --> 01:46:10,158
being tipped off yeah

1534
01:46:08,719 --> 01:46:14,399
i wonder what time this tub gets to

1535
01:46:10,158 --> 01:46:14,399
memphis holla wouldn't hazard a guess

1536
01:46:15,118 --> 01:46:21,000
hey let's see what the fella in the

1537
01:46:16,479 --> 01:46:21,000
engine room has to say all right

1538
01:46:23,789 --> 01:46:33,060
[Music]

1539
01:46:34,000 --> 01:46:37,520
passengers ain't allowed in the engine

1540
01:46:35,600 --> 01:46:39,199
room just trying to find out what time

1541
01:46:37,520 --> 01:46:40,800
we reach memphis oh we're close to

1542
01:46:39,198 --> 01:46:42,960
memphis now ought to be there pretty

1543
01:46:40,800 --> 01:46:44,960
soon if we have any luck i hope you're

1544
01:46:42,960 --> 01:46:45,810
right your luck's gonna be all bad get

1545
01:46:44,960 --> 01:46:48,399
him up

1546
01:46:45,810 --> 01:46:51,800
[Music]

1547
01:46:48,399 --> 01:46:51,799
take the guns

1548
01:46:55,279 --> 01:46:59,679
tie him up

1549
01:46:56,960 --> 01:46:59,679
get over there

1550
01:47:01,198 --> 01:47:04,319
wherever he got that money

1551
01:47:07,039 --> 01:47:12,800
i thought you'd carry it in one of these

1552
01:47:10,079 --> 01:47:12,800
and over there

1553
01:47:14,719 --> 01:47:18,399
when you get through with them shut off

1554
01:47:16,238 --> 01:47:21,718
the steam to the engine tie down that

1555
01:47:18,399 --> 01:47:21,719
safety valve

1556
01:47:24,649 --> 01:48:21,479
[Music]

1557
01:48:21,029 --> 01:48:25,550
[Applause]

1558
01:48:21,479 --> 01:48:25,549
[Music]

1559
01:48:30,689 --> 01:48:35,938
[Music]

1560
01:48:38,199 --> 01:48:44,269
[Music]

1561
01:48:45,118 --> 01:48:52,880
gonna blow up let's get out of here

1562
01:48:48,510 --> 01:48:57,000
[Music]

1563
01:48:52,880 --> 01:48:57,000
jesse we gotta get out of here

1564
01:49:03,199 --> 01:49:09,369
[Music]

1565
01:49:13,670 --> 01:49:22,079
[Music]

1566
01:49:19,760 --> 01:49:23,599
thanks pal that sure was a close call we

1567
01:49:22,079 --> 01:49:25,920
still got the money right in the old

1568
01:49:23,599 --> 01:49:25,920
vote

1569
01:49:27,439 --> 01:49:31,279
i'd give six bits to lauten's face when

1570
01:49:29,439 --> 01:49:32,638
he opens that pony money belt forget

1571
01:49:31,279 --> 01:49:33,920
lawton's face

1572
01:49:32,639 --> 01:49:35,760
we've got to figure a way to get off

1573
01:49:33,920 --> 01:49:37,569
this crate and get to memphis

1574
01:49:35,760 --> 01:49:42,639
even if we have to swim

1575
01:49:37,569 --> 01:49:44,000
[Music]

1576
01:49:42,639 --> 01:49:46,159
you hadn't been tricked into bringing

1577
01:49:44,000 --> 01:49:48,079
back a money belt stuck with newspapers

1578
01:49:46,158 --> 01:49:50,719
my words have been over

1579
01:49:48,079 --> 01:49:53,679
it had the 40 000 plus the mortgages on

1580
01:49:50,719 --> 01:49:55,118
every acre of oil and in the country

1581
01:49:53,679 --> 01:49:58,239
instead we've given a bunch of farmers a

1582
01:49:55,118 --> 01:49:58,238
chance to bring in their well

1583
01:50:01,279 --> 01:50:04,719
what'd you find out the drilling machine

1584
01:50:02,960 --> 01:50:06,399
has been loaded on the steamer it's due

1585
01:50:04,719 --> 01:50:08,800
in a day hey

1586
01:50:06,399 --> 01:50:10,158
that's a perfect setup we'll organize an

1587
01:50:08,800 --> 01:50:11,840
attack with the raiders and dump the

1588
01:50:10,158 --> 01:50:14,719
stuff overboard before they have a

1589
01:50:11,840 --> 01:50:17,039
chance to unload it use your head lawton

1590
01:50:14,719 --> 01:50:18,239
we can't attack them in broad daylight

1591
01:50:17,039 --> 01:50:19,439
especially with that sharp shooting

1592
01:50:18,238 --> 01:50:20,638
howard around

1593
01:50:19,439 --> 01:50:21,839
it'll be easier to hit them while

1594
01:50:20,639 --> 01:50:24,159
they're transporting the equipment to

1595
01:50:21,840 --> 01:50:26,159
the drilling site but that still doesn't

1596
01:50:24,158 --> 01:50:27,118
take care of howard don't worry about

1597
01:50:26,158 --> 01:50:28,559
howard

1598
01:50:27,118 --> 01:50:30,559
i'll guarantee he won't be with that

1599
01:50:28,560 --> 01:50:31,760
wagon train now here's what i have in

1600
01:50:30,560 --> 01:50:33,440
mind

1601
01:50:31,760 --> 01:50:36,840
when that wagon train

1602
01:50:33,439 --> 01:50:36,839
gets to the

1603
01:50:56,560 --> 01:51:00,239
sure glad that this is the last wagon me

1604
01:50:58,639 --> 01:51:01,679
too but we've still got to finish

1605
01:51:00,238 --> 01:51:03,678
loading it

1606
01:51:01,679 --> 01:51:06,239
which one of you fellas is howard i'm

1607
01:51:03,679 --> 01:51:07,679
howard what do you want mr bolton said

1608
01:51:06,238 --> 01:51:10,678
to give you this he looked kind of

1609
01:51:07,679 --> 01:51:10,679
worried

1610
01:51:28,880 --> 01:51:32,480
let me handle this now we'd better do

1611
01:51:30,800 --> 01:51:34,639
what the note says steve or else they

1612
01:51:32,479 --> 01:51:36,559
might hurt and finish loading the wagons

1613
01:51:34,639 --> 01:51:38,560
and get them started i'll find out what

1614
01:51:36,560 --> 01:51:41,560
this is all about yes you're right good

1615
01:51:38,560 --> 01:51:41,560
luck

1616
01:51:43,829 --> 01:51:55,679
[Music]

1617
01:51:52,880 --> 01:51:57,520
hello bolton well jesse i'm glad to see

1618
01:51:55,679 --> 01:51:59,599
you how'd it happen have you heard

1619
01:51:57,520 --> 01:52:01,520
anything further from the raiders

1620
01:51:59,599 --> 01:52:04,159
how did what happen i don't know what

1621
01:52:01,520 --> 01:52:04,159
you're talking about

1622
01:52:04,880 --> 01:52:08,319
what kind of a joke is this

1623
01:52:06,880 --> 01:52:11,319
what on earth are you talking about

1624
01:52:08,319 --> 01:52:11,319
jesse

1625
01:52:16,800 --> 01:52:22,000
it's a good likeness of my handwriting

1626
01:52:19,279 --> 01:52:23,759
somebody must be pulling your leg

1627
01:52:22,000 --> 01:52:26,079
if they are it must be for some good

1628
01:52:23,760 --> 01:52:26,079
reason

1629
01:52:26,479 --> 01:52:29,598
i must be getting old

1630
01:52:28,158 --> 01:52:31,198
this was just a means to get me away

1631
01:52:29,599 --> 01:52:32,639
from the wagons

1632
01:52:31,198 --> 01:52:34,879
if i don't miss my guess they're gonna

1633
01:52:32,639 --> 01:52:38,599
run into plenty of trouble

1634
01:52:34,880 --> 01:52:38,599
well good luck sir

1635
01:52:43,130 --> 01:52:50,350
[Music]

1636
01:53:00,000 --> 01:53:04,529
here they come

1637
01:53:02,319 --> 01:53:18,109
come on

1638
01:53:04,529 --> 01:53:18,109
[Music]

1639
01:53:30,189 --> 01:53:46,368
[Music]

1640
01:53:57,770 --> 01:54:06,659
[Music]

1641
01:54:14,539 --> 01:54:25,198
[Music]

1642
01:54:28,100 --> 01:54:40,300
[Music]

1643
01:54:43,039 --> 01:54:46,560
i thought you had a scheme that was

1644
01:54:44,319 --> 01:54:49,118
going to hold mr howard well he was

1645
01:54:46,560 --> 01:54:50,560
there big his life we lost three men and

1646
01:54:49,118 --> 01:54:52,079
now they've got a heavy guard around the

1647
01:54:50,560 --> 01:54:53,520
drilling site

1648
01:54:52,079 --> 01:54:56,079
in that case we'll just have to let them

1649
01:54:53,520 --> 01:54:59,280
go ahead and drill that well

1650
01:54:56,079 --> 01:55:01,679
you mean you won't even try to stop them

1651
01:54:59,279 --> 01:55:03,198
that's right

1652
01:55:01,679 --> 01:55:05,199
we let them spend every last dollar of

1653
01:55:03,198 --> 01:55:06,079
their loan on the drilling

1654
01:55:05,198 --> 01:55:08,399
and then when it looks like they're

1655
01:55:06,079 --> 01:55:09,920
about to strike pay dirt we move in and

1656
01:55:08,399 --> 01:55:11,359
wipe them out huh

1657
01:55:09,920 --> 01:55:13,199
we'll break every one of those dirt

1658
01:55:11,359 --> 01:55:16,359
grubbers

1659
01:55:13,198 --> 01:55:36,199
so let them start building and drilling

1660
01:55:16,359 --> 01:55:36,199
[Music]

1661
01:55:42,409 --> 01:55:46,329
[Music]

1662
01:55:48,470 --> 01:55:57,119
[Music]

1663
01:55:57,198 --> 01:56:02,399
how does it look very good

1664
01:56:00,880 --> 01:56:04,639
we ought to be able to bring the well in

1665
01:56:02,399 --> 01:56:05,920
before the day's out i hope you're right

1666
01:56:04,639 --> 01:56:07,679
because there's a representative from

1667
01:56:05,920 --> 01:56:10,000
the refining corporation coming out this

1668
01:56:07,679 --> 01:56:13,880
afternoon maybe we can put on a show for

1669
01:56:10,000 --> 01:56:13,880
it let's hope so

1670
01:56:15,779 --> 01:56:22,309
[Music]

1671
01:56:25,090 --> 01:56:31,300
[Music]

1672
01:56:32,479 --> 01:56:36,158
keep out of that stew oh they're just

1673
01:56:34,639 --> 01:56:37,599
smelling it

1674
01:56:36,158 --> 01:56:38,479
getting kind of low on wood aren't you

1675
01:56:37,599 --> 01:56:40,319
roy

1676
01:56:38,479 --> 01:56:41,598
what's the matter you got toothpicks no

1677
01:56:40,319 --> 01:56:43,840
i just thought i'd get to some more

1678
01:56:41,599 --> 01:56:43,840
that's all

1679
01:56:46,369 --> 01:56:50,769
[Music]

1680
01:56:54,639 --> 01:56:58,719
i expect to bring the well in today

1681
01:56:57,118 --> 01:57:01,759
good you won't have to keep these

1682
01:56:58,719 --> 01:57:01,760
explosives around long

1683
01:57:02,560 --> 01:57:06,000
plans still the same right

1684
01:57:04,560 --> 01:57:09,159
just wait for the attack we'll cover

1685
01:57:06,000 --> 01:57:09,158
your retreat

1686
01:57:16,399 --> 01:57:19,399
so

1687
01:57:19,810 --> 01:57:23,169
[Music]

1688
01:57:26,560 --> 01:57:31,920

1689
01:57:30,000 --> 01:57:33,599

1693
01:57:38,719 --> 01:57:42,719

1694
01:57:40,319 --> 01:57:44,479
drink oh thank you

1695
01:57:42,719 --> 01:57:46,480
border directors agreed this morning to

1696
01:57:44,479 --> 01:57:49,039
invest in your oil properties providing

1697
01:57:46,479 --> 01:57:50,158
of course at the first welcome

1698
01:57:49,039 --> 01:57:51,279
fair enough

1699
01:57:50,158 --> 01:57:54,319
and i don't think we'll have to wait

1700
01:57:51,279 --> 01:57:54,319
long for things to pop

1701
01:57:55,439 --> 01:58:29,689
the raiders take cover

1702
01:57:57,520 --> 01:58:29,830
[Music]

1703
01:58:29,689 --> 01:58:30,919
[Applause]

1704
01:58:29,829 --> 01:58:32,899
[Music]

1705
01:58:30,920 --> 01:58:37,199
[Applause]

1706
01:58:32,899 --> 01:58:39,279
[Music]

1707
01:58:37,198 --> 01:58:40,399
look there's no chance of going to works

1708
01:58:39,279 --> 01:58:44,920
now

1709
01:58:40,399 --> 01:58:44,920
a bullet will do the job just as well

1710
01:58:45,399 --> 01:59:01,229
[Music]

1711
01:59:00,819 --> 01:59:07,090
[Applause]

1712
01:59:01,229 --> 01:59:07,089
[Music]

1713
01:59:13,920 --> 01:59:17,920
i did it come on let's get out of here

1714
01:59:19,329 --> 01:59:24,868
[Music]

1715
01:59:32,020 --> 01:59:34,880
[Music]

1716
01:59:33,439 --> 01:59:36,719
well

1717
01:59:34,880 --> 01:59:39,440
i guess we're through

1718
01:59:36,719 --> 01:59:41,920
she was due to blow in at any minute

1719
01:59:39,439 --> 01:59:43,919
and what do we do now well we could rig

1720
01:59:41,920 --> 01:59:47,039
a jury derrick in about four days but

1721
01:59:43,920 --> 01:59:47,039
the bitters down there and

1722
01:59:49,520 --> 01:59:52,159
it's the whale

1723
01:59:50,800 --> 01:59:55,320
she's gonna blow

1724
01:59:52,158 --> 01:59:55,319
get back

1725
01:59:57,960 --> 02:00:01,038
[Music]

1726
02:00:03,760 --> 02:00:06,760
oh

1727
02:00:09,420 --> 02:00:16,918
[Applause]

1728
02:00:17,118 --> 02:00:20,809
come on

1729
02:00:20,380 --> 02:00:23,909
[Applause]

1730
02:00:20,810 --> 02:00:23,909
[Music]

1731
02:00:31,520 --> 02:00:36,920
well finley there's all the oil your

1732
02:00:33,439 --> 02:00:36,919
company can use

1733
02:00:40,719 --> 02:00:45,198
a lot of pressure there but she's under

1734
02:00:42,479 --> 02:00:45,198
control now

1735
02:00:45,260 --> 02:00:49,599
[Music]

1736
02:00:47,920 --> 02:00:50,960
well mr finley i've got to admit i've

1737
02:00:49,599 --> 02:00:52,800
been worried

1738
02:00:50,960 --> 02:00:54,239
if we hadn't struck oil the farmers in

1739
02:00:52,800 --> 02:00:56,480
peaceful valley would have lost their

1740
02:00:54,238 --> 02:00:58,399
homes farms and everything

1741
02:00:56,479 --> 02:01:01,118
we can meet that deadline tomorrow no

1742
02:00:58,399 --> 02:01:03,279
need to worry now there she is and time

1743
02:01:01,118 --> 02:01:05,359
to spare yeah there's oil of plenty all

1744
02:01:03,279 --> 02:01:07,359
right but

1745
02:01:05,359 --> 02:01:09,679
there's also trouble ahead what do you

1746
02:01:07,359 --> 02:01:11,439
mean these raiders

1747
02:01:09,679 --> 02:01:13,520
my company's interested in oil only if

1748
02:01:11,439 --> 02:01:15,759
you can deliver to our refinery don't

1749
02:01:13,520 --> 02:01:17,760
worry we'll deliver it

1750
02:01:15,760 --> 02:01:19,039
i'm not so sure howard those outlaws

1751
02:01:17,760 --> 02:01:20,719
could stop you

1752
02:01:19,039 --> 02:01:24,158
the way things stand now i can't advance

1753
02:01:20,719 --> 02:01:26,000
you any money would you get my team

1754
02:01:24,158 --> 02:01:27,359
wait finley

1755
02:01:26,000 --> 02:01:29,760
we've got to have it by tomorrow else

1756
02:01:27,359 --> 02:01:31,198
we'll lose our property

1757
02:01:29,760 --> 02:01:32,880
i'm sorry

1758
02:01:31,198 --> 02:01:34,479
business is business

1759
02:01:32,880 --> 02:01:37,840
there's a lot of cash involved and we

1760
02:01:34,479 --> 02:01:37,839
can't gamble with it

1761
02:01:42,479 --> 02:01:47,759
mr finley you don't understand yes i do

1762
02:01:45,840 --> 02:01:49,199
i wish i could act different deliver the

1763
02:01:47,760 --> 02:01:52,560
oil my company will be glad for your

1764
02:01:49,198 --> 02:01:52,559
business good luck

1765
02:01:57,199 --> 02:02:02,639
[Applause]

1766
02:01:59,439 --> 02:02:05,039
and this the biggest pool i ever tapped

1767
02:02:02,639 --> 02:02:06,880
what do we do now johnny

1768
02:02:05,039 --> 02:02:08,319
well we can't pay that note off tomorrow

1769
02:02:06,880 --> 02:02:12,118
so we'd better see clark and see if we

1770
02:02:08,319 --> 02:02:12,118
can get a little more time

1771
02:02:14,670 --> 02:02:21,288
[Music]

1772
02:02:25,279 --> 02:02:28,840
see you later grant

1773
02:02:30,329 --> 02:02:42,528
[Music]

1774
02:02:42,880 --> 02:02:46,319
we'll need an extension clark

1775
02:02:44,800 --> 02:02:48,239
it'll take us two or three weeks to lay

1776
02:02:46,319 --> 02:02:50,158
the pipeline yes i figured you wouldn't

1777
02:02:48,238 --> 02:02:52,079
be ready to pay by tomorrow so i wrote

1778
02:02:50,158 --> 02:02:53,519
the people who loaned the money

1779
02:02:52,079 --> 02:02:54,800
and asked them to let me give you a

1780
02:02:53,520 --> 02:02:56,719
little more time

1781
02:02:54,800 --> 02:02:59,039
you've heard from them

1782
02:02:56,719 --> 02:02:59,039
yes

1783
02:02:59,279 --> 02:03:03,279
the telegram came less than an hour ago

1784
02:03:03,359 --> 02:03:07,920
no extension

1785
02:03:05,679 --> 02:03:10,560
unless payment is made in full

1786
02:03:07,920 --> 02:03:13,440
or close immediately but mr clark i know

1787
02:03:10,560 --> 02:03:15,280
mr long and after all i'm only the agent

1788
02:03:13,439 --> 02:03:16,799
it's not my money

1789
02:03:15,279 --> 02:03:18,319
and i've got to follow orders no matter

1790
02:03:16,800 --> 02:03:21,199
how i might feel about it personally but

1791
02:03:18,319 --> 02:03:22,719
mr clark also steve

1792
02:03:21,198 --> 02:03:24,158
clark's right

1793
02:03:22,719 --> 02:03:25,679
he can't help us

1794
02:03:24,158 --> 02:03:27,679
so there's no use arguing with him or

1795
02:03:25,679 --> 02:03:29,679
blaming him you mean you're quitting

1796
02:03:27,679 --> 02:03:31,920
i mean we stop asking people to help us

1797
02:03:29,679 --> 02:03:33,440
and start helping ourselves

1798
02:03:31,920 --> 02:03:35,199
we aren't licked yet

1799
02:03:33,439 --> 02:03:37,678
we've got until midnight tomorrow you

1800
02:03:35,198 --> 02:03:39,839
can't build a pipeline in that time no

1801
02:03:37,679 --> 02:03:42,158
but every farmer's got a wagon or two

1802
02:03:39,840 --> 02:03:43,760
tar and plenty of lumber there's time to

1803
02:03:42,158 --> 02:03:45,198
build a tank on every rig in peaceful

1804
02:03:43,760 --> 02:03:47,039
valley by morning well what are we

1805
02:03:45,198 --> 02:03:48,399
waiting for clark we've got until

1806
02:03:47,039 --> 02:03:49,840
midnight tomorrow

1807
02:03:48,399 --> 02:03:51,359
you be in your office and i'll be back

1808
02:03:49,840 --> 02:03:53,360
here with the money before then i'll

1809
02:03:51,359 --> 02:03:54,880
wait for you we'll split up and tell the

1810
02:03:53,359 --> 02:03:56,319
farmers i'll take the lower valley tell

1811
02:03:54,880 --> 02:03:57,760
them we'll want to roll by sun up and

1812
02:03:56,319 --> 02:03:59,519
have them bring their wagons to the well

1813
02:03:57,760 --> 02:04:01,100
as soon as they're ready right

1814
02:03:59,520 --> 02:04:06,870
see you at midnight tomorrow

1815
02:04:01,100 --> 02:04:06,870
[Music]

1816
02:04:08,880 --> 02:04:13,679
that's a fool's idea

1817
02:04:10,880 --> 02:04:15,199
but howard might make it work

1818
02:04:13,679 --> 02:04:17,118
and if he does there's no way i can get

1819
02:04:15,198 --> 02:04:18,399
that land of the oil under it

1820
02:04:17,118 --> 02:04:20,079
tell lot and i want to see him we've got

1821
02:04:18,399 --> 02:04:33,920
to stop those wagons

1822
02:04:20,079 --> 02:04:35,519
[Music]

1823
02:04:33,920 --> 02:04:38,920
drive on down the flat and wait with the

1824
02:04:35,520 --> 02:04:38,920
rest of the wagons

1825
02:04:39,710 --> 02:04:43,399
[Music]

1826
02:04:44,238 --> 02:04:47,678
well that's about all of them they

1827
02:04:45,840 --> 02:04:50,000
believing right soon now

1828
02:04:47,679 --> 02:04:51,920
now they're in for a rough trip

1829
02:04:50,000 --> 02:04:54,590
i've got men all along there wrapped in

1830
02:04:51,920 --> 02:05:03,668
the wagon trend

1831
02:04:54,590 --> 02:05:03,668
[Music]

1832
02:05:04,319 --> 02:05:08,000
well we're ready jesse

1833
02:05:06,639 --> 02:05:12,760
all right steve

1834
02:05:08,000 --> 02:05:12,760
take the lead and let him roll all right

1835
02:05:12,930 --> 02:05:16,668
[Music]

1836
02:05:19,350 --> 02:05:24,239
[Music]

1837
02:05:22,479 --> 02:05:26,078
all right man

1838
02:05:24,238 --> 02:05:27,839
when we get rolling line them up and

1839
02:05:26,078 --> 02:05:31,158
keep them close together

1840
02:05:27,840 --> 02:05:31,159
let's go

1841
02:05:35,350 --> 02:05:38,509
[Music]

1842
02:05:56,399 --> 02:05:59,719
here they come

1843
02:06:02,000 --> 02:06:08,890
get going

1844
02:06:04,609 --> 02:06:08,889
[Music]

1845
02:06:31,170 --> 02:06:49,449
[Music]

1846
02:06:51,439 --> 02:06:54,638
what gives jesse we're going through

1847
02:06:53,359 --> 02:06:56,630
sure there's no other way to the

1848
02:06:54,639 --> 02:07:04,529
refinery

1849
02:06:56,630 --> 02:07:04,529
[Applause]

1850
02:07:08,770 --> 02:07:12,199
[Music]

1851
02:07:15,890 --> 02:07:23,600
[Music]

1852
02:07:37,649 --> 02:07:43,608
[Music]

1853
02:07:48,149 --> 02:07:58,719
[Music]

1854
02:07:56,560 --> 02:08:01,520
i guess all you want on that jesse is a

1855
02:07:58,719 --> 02:08:02,880
close call all right

1856
02:08:01,520 --> 02:08:04,480
there's my horse

1857
02:08:02,880 --> 02:08:05,679
it'll slow us down to ride double steve

1858
02:08:04,479 --> 02:08:07,439
and i've got to get those wagons with

1859
02:08:05,679 --> 02:08:09,440
the refinery you just have them pick me

1860
02:08:07,439 --> 02:08:12,000
up on the way back to peaceful valley

1861
02:08:09,439 --> 02:08:12,000
fair enough

1862
02:08:13,050 --> 02:08:16,079
[Music]

1863
02:08:14,639 --> 02:08:19,639
good luck

1864
02:08:16,078 --> 02:08:19,639
i'll lead it

1865
02:08:22,479 --> 02:08:35,898
[Music]

1866
02:08:36,639 --> 02:08:40,960
you made it i guess we're finished

1867
02:08:39,359 --> 02:08:42,639
not quite

1868
02:08:40,960 --> 02:08:44,000
we can still keep howard from getting

1869

1886
02:09:24,078 --> 02:09:28,639

i don't know

1894
02:09:58,710 --> 02:10:05,720
[Music]

1895
02:10:07,599 --> 02:10:09,920
listen

1896
02:10:12,479 --> 02:10:18,118
it's hard all right remember now don't

1897
02:10:14,719 --> 02:10:18,118
let them through

1898
02:10:23,800 --> 02:10:27,010
[Music]

1899
02:10:29,699 --> 02:10:44,369
[Music]

[Music]

1902
02:11:45,599 --> 02:11:50,560
he ain't trying to shut for some time

1903
02:11:47,840 --> 02:11:50,560
maybe we got him

1904
02:11:50,960 --> 02:11:54,560
we'll close in on him

1905
02:11:52,719 --> 02:11:55,679
don't take any chances the guy's a dead

1906
02:11:54,560 --> 02:11:57,000
shot

1907
02:11:55,679 --> 02:12:16,158
come on

1908
02:11:57,000 --> 02:12:18,479
[Music]

1909
02:12:16,158 --> 02:12:20,399
he must be hiding in there

1910
02:12:18,479 --> 02:12:21,839
well all we gotta do is keep him pinned

1911
02:12:20,399 --> 02:12:24,839
down so he can't get into town before

1912
02:12:21,840 --> 02:12:24,840
midnight

1913
02:12:25,869 --> 02:12:42,439
[Music]

1914
02:12:42,639 --> 02:12:45,760
he's making a break for it

1915
02:12:46,639 --> 02:13:20,798
get to your horses

1916
02:12:49,119 --> 02:13:20,798
[Music]

1917
02:13:21,599 --> 02:13:26,489
so

1918
02:13:22,960 --> 02:13:26,489
[Music]

1919
02:13:29,170 --> 02:13:32,319
[Music]

1920
02:13:43,679 --> 02:13:48,399
been chasing a dummy

1921
02:13:46,000 --> 02:13:51,359

1922
02:13:48,399 --> 02:13:53,198
got very poor this is his horse

1923
02:13:51,359 --> 02:13:55,039
what about the horse spike's been riding

1924
02:13:53,198 --> 02:13:56,638
he probably caught him

1925
02:13:55,039 --> 02:14:00,319
you two backtrack and look for spike's

1926
02:13:56,639 --> 02:14:00,319
horse i'll try and beat howard into town

1927
02:14:10,078 --> 02:14:14,799
well chef duffy yes what can i do for

1928
02:14:13,198 --> 02:14:16,638

1929
02:14:14,800 --> 02:14:18,800
well i'm mark tobin

1930
02:14:16,639 --> 02:14:23,520
sheriff of clay county missouri glad to

1931
02:14:18,800 --> 02:14:23,520
know you thank you sit down sit down

1932
02:14:24,479 --> 02:14:29,359
what brings you out in these parts well

1933
02:14:27,760 --> 02:14:31,039
i heard about the reign of terror you've

1934
02:14:29,359 --> 02:14:32,559
been having in your county

1935
02:14:31,039 --> 02:14:35,039
sounded familiar

1936
02:14:32,560 --> 02:14:37,760
as it started about the time jesse james

1937
02:14:35,039 --> 02:14:40,560
dropped out of sight i calculated that

1938
02:14:37,760 --> 02:14:42,079
maybe he's responsible for the trouble

1939
02:14:40,560 --> 02:14:43,679
you may be right

1940
02:14:42,078 --> 02:14:46,078
but these raiders we've been having so

1941
02:14:43,679 --> 02:14:47,440
much trouble with all wear masks

1942
02:14:46,078 --> 02:14:49,519
when they take them off they can walk

1943
02:14:47,439 --> 02:14:51,519
down the street like honest citizens

1944
02:14:49,520 --> 02:14:53,760
besides nobody here would know jesse

1945
02:14:51,520 --> 02:14:56,079
james if they saw him well i'd know him

1946
02:14:53,760 --> 02:14:58,560
i've known him ever since he was a boy

1947
02:14:56,078 --> 02:15:00,158
if he's here i'll find him

1948
02:14:58,560 --> 02:15:01,760
you can depend on me to give you all the

1949
02:15:00,158 --> 02:15:03,439
help i can

1950
02:15:01,760 --> 02:15:05,280
but this one man can do you more good

1951
02:15:03,439 --> 02:15:06,799
than i

1952
02:15:05,279 --> 02:15:09,039
he's been a thorn in the side of these

1953
02:15:06,800 --> 02:15:10,880
black raiders in fact he's the only one

1954
02:15:09,039 --> 02:15:12,880
that's been able to combat them

1955
02:15:10,880 --> 02:15:16,000
he's an excellent horseman and a dead

1956
02:15:12,880 --> 02:15:18,078
shot well that sounds interesting

1957
02:15:16,000 --> 02:15:20,420
tell me all about this fella

1958
02:15:18,078 --> 02:15:27,588
well his name's howard

1959
02:15:20,420 --> 02:15:27,588
[Music]

1960
02:15:29,920 --> 02:15:33,920
three more minutes and every farm in

1961
02:15:31,920 --> 02:15:35,440
this valley will be ours and all the oil

1962
02:15:33,920 --> 02:15:38,909
that goes with it yeah often has done a

1963
02:15:35,439 --> 02:15:42,158
good job hard i'll never make it now

1964
02:15:38,909 --> 02:15:44,238
[Music]

1965
02:15:42,158 --> 02:15:46,638
here's the mortgage money clerk plus

1966
02:15:44,238 --> 02:15:46,638
interest

1967
02:15:46,880 --> 02:15:50,800
and with two minutes to spare yes howard

1968
02:15:49,039 --> 02:15:53,359
you just in time

1969
02:15:50,800 --> 02:15:53,360
have a chair

1970
02:15:53,520 --> 02:15:57,800
get the mortgage out of the safe time

1971
02:15:58,470 --> 02:16:06,320
[Music]

1972
02:16:04,078 --> 02:16:06,319
there

1973
02:16:06,560 --> 02:16:09,599
the bottom compartment

1974
02:16:15,279 --> 02:16:20,960
and it's all here

1975
02:16:16,840 --> 02:16:20,960
hard over here tim

1976
02:16:21,760 --> 02:16:27,960
easy hard

1977
02:16:24,078 --> 02:16:27,960
keep your head away from your gun

1978
02:16:33,209 --> 02:16:42,100
[Music]

1979
02:16:46,350 --> 02:16:51,679
[Music]

1980
02:16:49,840 --> 02:16:54,398
all right you two

1981
02:16:51,679 --> 02:16:54,398
get to your feet

1982
02:16:56,959 --> 02:17:01,458
i'll get the mortgage you won't need it

1983
02:16:58,718 --> 02:17:04,318
howard

1984
02:17:01,459 --> 02:17:06,960
[Music]

1985
02:17:04,318 --> 02:17:06,959
now get it

1986
02:17:07,090 --> 02:17:10,209
[Music]

1987
02:17:13,359 --> 02:17:15,840
sign it

1988
02:17:22,000 --> 02:17:25,280
so it was you clark who organized the

1989
02:17:23,679 --> 02:17:27,040
black raiders and sent them raiden and

1990
02:17:25,280 --> 02:17:28,960
burn in the valley you'll never prove it

1991
02:17:27,040 --> 02:17:30,639
howard it'll be your word against mine

1992
02:17:28,959 --> 02:17:32,239

1993
02:17:30,638 --> 02:17:34,000

1994
02:17:32,239 --> 02:17:35,760
